Skarla Nula (a.k.a. Ramona Redford, Scarlet Nebula)
Background:
Skarla Nula was once a Sarginian scientist, born into a peaceful, stagnating world where science and religion existed in an uneasy balance. On her home planet, Sargina, the skies were always tinted in hues of carmine due to the Alizarin Vale, a massive nebula that surrounded the planet, cutting them off from the stars. As a result, Sarginians were unaware of the vastness of the universe, comforted by the belief they were alone and chosen by their deities.
Skarla, however, was different. Unlike most of her peers, she dared to question the status quo and theorized that the Sarginians were not alone in the universe. Her outlandish ideas made her a pariah, laughed at by her scientific peers and dismissed by religious authorities. But her persistence in understanding the mysteries of the universe led her down a path no one could have predicted. One fateful night, while driving alone through the countryside, a strange light filled the sky, and Skarla was abducted by the Greys—cold, emotionless alien scientists who sought to study and experiment on her. As they conducted horrific experiments, something unexpected happened. Removed from Sargina's suppressive atmosphere, Skarla's body unlocked a dormant meta-gene, a powerful genetic potential that the planet's natural chemicals had been suppressing.
Her transformation was immediate and overwhelming—she gained extraordinary strength, invulnerability, flight, and the ability to fire devastating cosmic energy blasts from her eyes. In a rage, she broke free from the Greys' ship, unleashing her new powers and destroying everything in her path.
Drifting in space after the encounter, Skarla crash-landed on Earth, where she discovered humans were not so different from Sarginians. Adopting the identity of Scarlet Nebula, Skarla now lives on Earth in Canada, attempting to blend in while protecting her new home and unraveling the mysteries of the stars. The questions about her powers and her people's origins continue to haunt her, but she is determined to use her incredible abilities to defend those in need.

Skarla Nula is intelligent, curious, and deeply empathetic, with a strong sense of justice. Her experiences have made her wary of blind faith and authority, as well as deeply suspicious of beings who seek to control others. She has a burning desire to uncover the secrets of the universe, both to better understand her newfound powers and to explore the mysteries surrounding her people.
Despite her immense power, Skarla struggles with loneliness. On Earth, she is an outsider, constantly reminded of how far she is from her home. She is warm and friendly to those she trusts but can come off as stoic or distant when protecting herself emotionally. Her connection to the cosmos gives her a slightly detached view of humanity's concerns at times, but she fights for Earth with every ounce of her power, determined to make it a home worth defending.
When on Earth, she adopts a down-to-earth persona, attending school as a science student under her human alias. But as Scarlet Nebula, she is a symbol of hope and power—a warrior with the strength of the cosmos itself.

Special abilities
When seperated from the atomosphere and effects of the Alizarin Vale Nebula Sarginian's extreme meta-genes activate allowing them to tap dirrectly into the cosmic energy that underpins the universe. As Skarla is the only Sarginian to have done this in the entire known history of her species she has no idea of her powers are standard.
Cosmic Strength: Scarlet Nebula possesses strength on a cosmic level, able to lift tremendous weights and battle some of the universe's strongest beings on equal footing.
Cosmic Invulnerability: Her body is incredibly durable, allowing her to withstand physical, thermal, and energy-based attacks with minimal damage. Only incredibly powerful forces can harm her.
Cosmic Flight: Scarlet Nebula can fly at faster-than-light speeds in space, though she controls her speed when in Earth's atmosphere to avoid damage. In Space she can naturally tap into hyperspace and accelerate to FTL travel speeds.
Cosmic Energy Manipulation: Her most powerful attack is her cosmic energy blasts, released from her eyes or hands. These blasts are a form of unknown cosmic energy that defies the laws of physics, capable of disintegrating objects or enemies, depending on how she controls them. These blasts can be controled to less dangerous levels but have the ability to shear through nearly all known forms of invulnrablity or enery resistance. Though using her blasts full power has shown to depete her reserves of cosmic energy potentialy leaving her vunrable if over used.
Enhanced Senses: Her senses are magnified to cosmic levels. She can see, hear, and sense things at astronomical distances. In addition she can sense cosmic energy and effects that occur on a cosmic scale
Immortality/Longevity: It is unclear how long Skarla will live, but she ages much more slowly than humans, showing no signs of aging since she arrived on Earth.
Regeneration: Although nearly invulnerable, if she is injured, her cells regenerate rapidly, healing at an accelrated rate. Other Powers: Even Scarlet Nebula is not entirly sure of the abilities and effects of her being attuned to cosmic energy have resulted in and may have powers that are still dorment or unaccounted for.

Scarlet Nebula the cosmic powered redheaded powerhouse heroine was inspired by my good friend Zaldra5, Gamer, RPer, and frequent member of my TTRPG group who I'd like to thank for bringing her to life as more at the gaming table and in MMORPGs like City of Heroes.
