Lady Oleander I

Background:

Isabella "Bella" Donna De Luca grew up in New York City in the 1920s, the daughter of Italian immigrants who ran a small neighborhood pharmacy. Her father, a skilled pharmacist and herbalist, taught Bella everything he knew about plants, potions, and poisons. This upbringing ignited Bella’s love for science, leading her to pursue a formal education in chemistry. However, despite graduating at the top of her class, Bella struggled to find recognition in the male-dominated scientific community of the 1930s.

Returning to her family’s pharmacy, Bella found herself disillusioned and frustrated by the limitations society placed on her. But her world was truly shattered when the local mafia—demanding protection money—brutally assaulted her father for refusing to comply. The police turned a blind eye, unwilling to cross the powerful crime syndicate, leaving Bella to confront the overwhelming corruption that controlled her city.

Driven by grief, rage, and a desire for vengeance, Bella vowed to bring justice to the criminals responsible for her father's suffering. Drawing on her expertise in chemistry, she began creating a range of poisons and chemical agents. Her crowning achievement was the creation of Miracle Tablets, which temporarily enhanced her physical abilities to superhuman levels. Realizing that she needed a persona to strike fear into the hearts of the wicked, Bella adopted the alias Lady Oleander—a nod to the beautiful yet deadly flower.

With her lethal knowledge of poisons and her enhanced abilities, Lady Oleander embarked on a crusade to eliminate the criminals and corrupt officials who had a stranglehold on her community. Though her methods were ruthless, Bella viewed herself as a necessary evil—one who balanced the scales of justice, ensuring that for every poison, there was an antidote. For some, however, that antidote came in the form of death.

  Personality:

Bella is a fierce and determined woman, driven by a need for justice and revenge. Intelligent and resourceful, she has a sharp wit and a deep understanding of human nature, using charm and disarming femininity to her advantage when needed. She is compassionate toward the innocent but ruthless when it comes to those who abuse power, showing no mercy to criminals who prey on the weak. Despite her vengeful mission, Bella remains empathetic to those struggling under the mafia's thumb, and her mission is fueled by both personal vendetta and a desire to protect her community.
