Eva Turner

Background:
Eva Turner was born and raised amidst the rugged beauty and ancient mysteries of the Orkney Islands. Growing up surrounded by the sea, the wind, and the whispers of Norse legends, she developed a fierce independence and a deep connection to her heritage. Her father, a fisherman, instilled in her a love for the sea and a practical, no-nonsense approach to life. Her mother, a schoolteacher with a passion for folklore, filled her head with tales of Vikings, selkies, and ancient magic. This blend of practicality and mysticism shaped Eva's worldview.
Orphaned at a young age when her parents were lost at sea, Eva learned to rely on her wits and her resourcefulness to survive. She inherited her father's sturdy fishing boat and used it to travel between the islands, earning a living through odd jobs and developing a keen understanding of the local communities and their secrets. She also inherited her mother's love of stories, and began writing about her own adventures, sometimes using a pen name.
A chance encounter with a stranded American detective in the late 1920s sparked her interest in investigation. She learned the basics of deduction and observation, realizing she had a natural talent for uncovering hidden truths. This led her to establish herself as a private investigator, taking on cases that ranged from mundane marital disputes to more dangerous matters involving local smugglers and whispers of ancient cults.
The rise of Nazi Germany in the 1930s brought a new dimension to her work. Rumors of occult activities and Nazi interest in ancient artifacts reached her ears, and she felt compelled to act. Her adventures took her beyond the Orkney Islands, across Europe and even further afield, pitting her against Nazi agents, occultists, and other threats to freedom and justice. She always had Rascal, her loyal Newfoundland, by her side.
  Personality:
Eva is a fiercely independent and resourceful woman with a dry wit and a no-nonsense attitude. She's not afraid to speak her mind, even to powerful individuals. Beneath her tough exterior, however, lies a deep sense of compassion and a strong moral code. She's driven by a desire to protect the innocent and fight against injustice. Her experiences have made her somewhat cynical, but she still holds onto a core belief in the goodness of humanity. She has a soft spot for animals, especially Rascal, her constant companion. She's intelligent, curious, and always eager for a new adventure. While she can be impulsive and sometimes reckless, she's also fiercely loyal and protective of those she cares about. She enjoys a good whiskey and a well-told story, and often uses her writing as a way to process her experiences and share her unique perspective with the world.
