Undead Animal Servants
The Fall of Death did not affect animals, but raising animals into undeath to serve is still a common practice among most necromancers, including those of the Order.
Some commonly raised animals are:
Pigeons. Some people are surprised that necromancers use pigeons instead of crows or ravens to deliver messages, but pigeons are considered to be more reliable. Similar to living messenger pigeons, undead ones can carry messages across long distances. Though undeath erases any known routes the bird once knew, it can still use similar paths and infrastructure.
Dogs.
Effect
Raising an animal into undeath creates a creature which can follow simple orders from the necromancer who raised it.
Side/Secondary Effects
The raised animal has minimal intelligence, regardless of the species, after being raised. For example, a dog who was well trained in life would not retain that training in undeath.
Manifestation
Depending on the state of the animal before it was raised, and how long it has been undead, appearance can range from almost alive to nearly skeletal.
