One hundred years ago, people stopped dying. But the end of death did not bring an end to suffering. No one knows why death stopped working for humans. Those who suffer severe injury, debilitating disease, or wither into old age are unable to move on. Then, the discovery of a necromantic ritual that could bring true death changed the world's relation to undeath and necromancers. As part of this cultural shift, an order was created by a new kind of necromancer, one whose job was to bring peace. However, the world continued to move and progress, and is now experiencing its own industrial revolution. The fall of death still has terrible and unforeseen consequences, and the rapid changes in technology and economics, threaten to bring everything crashing down. Or: STEAMPUNK NECROMANCERS
