Miles Lanier

Head of Security at Renraku

Miles Lanier is the current Head of Internal Security of Renraku Computer Systems and former Head of Security of Fuchi Industrial Electronics. He was believed to be a close personal friend of Richard Villiers prior to betraying Fuchi, but is now believed to have been a double agent working for Renraku.

Personal history

Before his days as Head of Security, Miles Lanier worked as a sniper for the UCAS army. He had a strong eye for detail and a brilliant sense of tactics, for which he received numerous accolades and awards. Specifics of his time in duty are limited, due to his later career, but numerous sources close to him at the time confirm that he was a very capable man. 
After leaving the military, Lanier became a security consultant at Fuchi where he quickly rose up the ranks. He eventually caught the attention of then CEO Richard Villiers who took him on as Head of Security. The two grew closer for a time, to the extent that several of Villiers subordinates believed that the two had a closer non-professional relationship outside of work. 
The relationship between Villiers and Lanier seems to have fallen out when Lanier left Fuchi to join its rival Renraku. Although Lanier joined Renraku as a security personell, the company suddenly gained extensive knowledge of Fuchi assets, which subsequently experienced hits by shadowrunners. Lanier, who presumably sold out intel on these assets, also suddenly gained a position as Head of Security at the corporation he was once a rival to.
