Alok Hkk'Neehr
Alok (a.k.a. The Manic Monarch)
Alok Hkk'Neehr is a male Githzerai who acts as the thirteenth Alok of Bo'Rau'hl. Raised in Zerth'Ad'Lun he became a devoted member of the disciples of Zerthimon which shepherded him through his trials due to his promise as the next Alok. He devoted himself entirely to his studies and psionics, he was a hermit child often neglecting his physical training in favor of diplomacy and mental mastery. His focus proved promising to his predecessor, Alok Darnash, who praised his psionic prowess.
After years of mediating conflicts, his elevation was complete, it was then time for the final Alok rituals. A trial passed by combat, Hkk'Neehr was challenged to duel his former tutor Alok Darnash to prove his worthiness to rise as the new Alok of Bo'Rau'hl. Mysteriously the Alok Darnash had passed away, seemingly from age a week prior to their scheduled duel. This saw Hkk'Neehr elevated to Alok ahead of schedule, making him the most important and powerful being in Bo'Rau'hl.
Hkk'Neehr served Menyar-Ag faithfully as an advisor for over a decade, this was, of course prior to the hibernation of Menyar-Ag causing the de-coupling which spurred Bo'Rau'hl into chaos. After the decoupling of the cradle in 5699 GA, Hkk'Neehr's power was challenged for the first time as the source of Bo'Rau'hl's magic and divinity began to decay. The cherished Galk tree of Bo'Rau'hl withered away leaving Hkk'Neehr unable to prevent the devastating rot that consumed the East. Focusing all of his power on limiting the influence and creep of the rot across Bo'Rau'hl, time was bought to decipher a solution.
Eventually, the Galk resurrected in the central lake, bedazzling everyone. With it, Bo'Rau'hl was changed forever, as the scarred East remained a rotting wasteland, while the Western and Northern regions were stricken with floral overgrowth, and a new landmass formed in the center of the lake decorated by gargantuan mystical trees. Hkk'Neehr himself assumed responsibility for the re-erection of the Galk, this cannot be confirmed. The magic from the growing Galk sapling swelled throughout the isle overtaking much of the magical burden of preservation. This left Hkk'Neehr confused as he could no longer connect with or manipulate the isle. He was effectively cut off. Initially, he was scorned, feeling obsolete, and spat at by Zerthimon, as such a surge of magical power could only be the doing of his mighty deity. For a time he believed it to be a punishment from Zerthimon for a variety of perceived crimes. Through the guidance of his fellows, he soon believed it could instead be a boon from Zerthimon, an opportunity to exert a new era upon the Githzerai.
Reaching a supposed epiphany, Hkk'Neehr believed that Zerthimon was attempting to send a message, translating it as the Zerai have been flawed in their interpretations of the Unbroken Circles. Hkk'Neehr believed that the Zerthimon would never return to the Zerai on their current path and that they must change and adapt to the natural order of chaos to fulfill Zerthimon's teachings. This concluded in Hkk'Neehr asserting himself as the governor of Bo'Rau'hl, erecting a new order of Zerthimon that would quash the old ways and bring about a new age of Zerthimon destined to see his return, harbinger of Hkk'Neehr himself.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
A wild-eyed Gith with a chiseled face, Alok Hkk'Neehr was a tall man of average build and was considered fairly muscular. He stood at 2.1 meters. At the time of his Zerthdom, he had a neatly trimmed short beard. Walking with long loping strides, he simply expected other beings to make room for him, stepping to either side.
Special abilities
"As a general rule, nearly all Zerthi struck [Phisk Du'khal] as pompous and arrogant and obscenely sure of themselves. But even with that head start Alok Hkk'Neehr was in a class by himself." "'You really don't like him, do you?" ―See'hr Belthomais and Zerth Vhen'nah about Belthomias's assistant Phisk Du'khal's opinions on the the Alok of the Bo'Rau'hl.Alok Hkk'Neehr was a very gifted and talented Zerthi. As he showed prowess in psionics, he was quickly brought to the Zerthi Temples. Hkk'Neehr was proficient in telekinesis, as he showcased during the dispute on Bo'Rau'hl, where he stopped an incoming fireball from exploding and colliding with its targets during the Gormeel negotiations. The talented Zerthi was also able to invoke confusion, simply by speaking with an individual, which he used to intimidate others when appropriate. Another example of his proficiency in psionics was his ability in Meld, being able to anchor several Zerthi in a row, and not being exhausted afterward, but being unaffected after performing several melds. Among Hkk'Neehr's other psionic abilities was the common hold person, pass without trace, telepathy, enhanced ability, true sight, dark vision, healing word, and detect thoughts. His skill with psionics eventually culminated in imposing himself on the title of Q'teth thanks to his prowess. However, although no one approved his decision, his fellow Zerthi saw it as a well-deserved promotion.] He was also a highly intelligent man, being able to speak fluently in Gith, expanding on his ability to read and write ancient Celestial. He could also speak Common.

Personal history
"I will not have my teaching philosophy dissected as if it were an interesting biological specimen... Particularly not by one as young as you." "Age isn't necessarily the best indicator of knowledge in psionics, […]" "No, but experience is, […] When you've trained as many Disciples as I have, we'll discuss this further. Until then, I believe your apprentice is waiting for you in Hallway Two." ―Q'teth Hkk'Neehr and Zerth Adolith.Immediately following the presumable completion of his Q'teth trials, Hkk'Neehr eagerly imposed the title upon himself, contrary to the traditional ritual performed by the disciples. After being informed of his exploits in completing his trials, he was forgiven for his eagerness and permitted to hold the title, foregoing the rituals. His fellow disciples deemed it "Well earned, if not arrogant." During the raid of Zerth'Ad'Lun, Hkk'Neehr aided in its defense and personally oversaw the anointment of his friend Belthomias as the new Spiritual figurehead of Zerth'Ad'Lun, this granted the autonomy of each city leader to reign in the best interest of Zerthimon, a goal Hkk'neehr would take personally upon being annexed as the next Alok. Prior to this, he spent much of his time reforming Zerth'Ad'Lun with Belthomias. Returning to Bo'Rau'hl he addressed the growing conflict of the Gormeel presence within the city. The cynical and prejudiced Githzerai were initially wary of their involvement in Zerai society despite their otherwise helpful and relatively friendly nature. Taking the side of the Gormeel and speaking on their behalf he tamed the rocky relationship between the two species, creating laws that saw fair integration of the Gormeel into Zerai society on Bo'Rau'hl. This earned a great deal of distrust and disdain for the future Alok by the locals of Bo'Rau'hl. During his time as a Zerth and Q'teth, Hkk'Neehr took on many apprentices in pursuit of furthering the word of Zerthimons unbroken circles. His forceful and arrogant demeanor saw many of his apprentices depart prior to accomplishing their trials and studies. At some point, Hkk'Neehr took up an Alok apprentice, Zerth Vhen'nah whose prowess impressed Hkk'Neehr, however, Vhen'nah was kind and humble, traits viewed as weak by the Hkk'Neehr, who believed that Zerthi were superior to all other races. This attitude uneased Vhen'nah, but his timid nature saw that his words were kept to himself. New Era: Following the loss of control over Bo'Rau'hl, Hkk'Neehr began to aspire toward redeeming his lost purpose. Soon realizing that his disposition was not a punishment, but a gift, a sign that Hkk'neehr was destined for something far greater. He believed that Zerthimon had granted him the freedom and foundation to reforge the Zerai in a new light, asserting authority and dominance over the old ways. Hkk'Neehr's new era, based on dominance, would usher in Zerthimons return and spark the new age of Zerai. With the chaos of Bo'Rau'hl roiling uncontrollably, it was in his best interest to decipher the magics of the Galk tree and determine how best to use this indomitable power. With it, he would presumably use it to assert himself and his new reign over the sister cities in Zerthimons name, curing them of their weakness and bringing forth the promised age. His newfound zealous beliefs began to alienate those around him as he degenerated into mania, ostracizing the sister cities. The sister cities began to cut off support to Bo'Rau'hl as it grew to be more of a lost cause, blighted by the ever-growing rot, chaos, and the Manic Monarch that assumed control over the Northern and Southern regions of Bo'Rau'hl. Alone, Hkk'Neehr was left to govern Bo'Rau'hl and seek the answers to the magical Galk. Over his diplomatic career, he made many friends who stood loyally by his side while much of the population withdrew from the city. The Gormeel and Lower and Northern regions showed immense gratitude for their deeds in mediating conflict.
"It's quite impressive." "It's more than just impressive. Therein lies the future of the Githzerai." ―Alok Hkk'Neehr and Zerth Vhen'nah upon seeing Galk Sapling.
Morality & Philosophy
Alok Hkk'Neehr never conceded to others, he always held the right of way over inferior beings. Hkk'Neehr's manner of speaking was direct, unadorned, no-nonsense. He spoke in a husky baritone voice. He was known to believe in the superiority of the Zerthi, his unapologetic conviction was that the Zerthi were far above the average unenlightened, and therefore they had the right to rule over them, be they outlaws, thieves, bureaucrats, or senators. His proud attitude of superiority caused several of his kin to be disturbed by his views, including his own apprentice Zerth Vhen'nah—to whom he was especially brutal, considering he was Vhen'nah's Master.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Hkk'Neehr was also extremely arrogant in his dealings, not only with non-Zerthi but also with his fellow kin. That arrogance, as combined with his often severe attitudes, divided many Zerths on their perception and/or approbation of the future Alok. Some believed that he was the consummate model of what it meant to be a Zerth, while others vehemently disagreed with his methods and remained very wary of him and his extremist views. Hkk'Neehr was among the very few Q'teth who indulged an unqualified admiration of J.D. (Change), the apprentice's prodigious youth, in turn, J.D. admired the master, believing him to be a powerful Alok from whom he could learn a lot from.
"It is if the lure of such advanced techniques goads them into pressing ahead too quickly and too impatiently." "Speak carefully, Zerth Vhen'nah— […] Such impatience is the mark of the arrogance. I will not have you accuse me of walking that path, nor of guiding others along it." "I don't accuse you of anything. […] Except perhaps of having overly high expectations of those under your tutelage." ―Alok Hkk'Neehr and Zerth Vhen'nah.Relationship to J.D.:
"But you do want to come see Bo'Rau'hl with me? […]" "I don't want to leave the Zerth'Ad'Lun forever, […] But I was impressed by how you handled things during the raid, ending the deadlock and all. I think I'd learn a lot just by watching you in your daily activities." ―Zerth Hkk'Neehr and Apprentice J.D.Hkk'Neehr admired J.D., as the young apprentice had become far more powerful than what a normal apprentice would have achieved, which he constantly reminded his own apprentice, Vhen'nah, of. The admiration went both ways, as J.D. viewed Hkk'Neehr as a powerful, direct, and knowledgeable Zerthi, and J.D. also wished to spend more time with Hkk'Neehr, as he believed he could learn a lot by watching Hkk'Neehr do his daily activities. Relationship with Zerth Vhen'nah:
"I don't think I've ever met anyone before who was trained by Alok Hkk'Neehr, […] What's he like to study with? […]" "It's been a valuable learning experience, […] Alok Hkk'Neehr has a depth and strength in the teachings that I can only hope I'll someday be able to approach." ―Zerth Jiwani and Zerth Vhen'nah. The Alok was arrogant and harsh toward Vhen'nah, as he had not reached the power J.D. had obtained in a shorter time. However, once he achieved the title of Zerth, Hkk'Neehr was very proud of Vhen'nah, viewing him as a fully-fledged Zerth. Hkk'Neehr was admired by Vhen'nah, as he was considered powerful by his apprentice, and a man who had taught him a lot of valuable lessons, both in the teachings of Zerthimon and in daily life. Both cared for each other in their distinctive ways. Relationship with Belthomias: Hkk'Neehr and Belthomias had a long-standing friendship, as Hkk'Neehr respected Belthomias and vice versa. With Belthomias's support, Hkk'Neehr was able to eventually succeed in his Alok trials, which he was not grateful for, as Belthomias had taken "too much time" from the Q'teth, allowing for the project to be delayed. However, although both shared a friendship, Belthomias, under his new title of Spiritual Leader of Zerth'Ad'Lun, abandoned Hkk'Neehr in his pursuit for the Galk's power, deeming him lost.
