Sorac - Lord of the Skies

One of The Four

Gameplay: Followers of The Old Gods have the most diverse set of beliefs and gods on the Sword Coast. As such all religious classes (clerics, paladins, and druids) are open to them. Listed below, in order of importance, are the most important deities in the pantheon, but there are too many to list. You may choose one of them as your character’s deity, or you may design your character’s deity and religion. If you wish to play as a follower of The Old Gods, work with your DM to design your character’s beliefs and the nature of the religion and the god(s) she serves.   A Note to Players: There is a lot of room for players develop their characters' religious beliefs and to expand on the brief summaries of each deity presented below. Players are invited to help expand or amend what is written below.

Beliefs

Sorac is one of The Four; four sibling deities of nature, Moeri of the wilderness, Umin of the sea, Sorac of the sky, and Yaman of the mountains. It is written that Sorac gives breath to the world, brings the rain, and the storms.

Places of worship

Temples to Sorac are abundant in agricultural areas; in farming villages of all races. He is also often incorporated as the supreme kami of the skies in The Way of The Spirits. Since most of his temples are in pastoral regions they are modest, yet abundant.

Characterization

The Four are depicted as siblings, two brothers and two sisters. Although they are siblings most people depict them as different races. While most see them as siblings, a few see them as different aspects of the same god. Sorac is depicted as an older human male with flowing blue robes and as a blue and white dragon.

Worshippers

Most of Sorac' followers are farmers who pray to him for gentle rains for their crops.
