A Short History of the Winds

Mortal Life

Ascension

In the distant past a mage of the ancients. A member of the Puffinfolk attempted to reach greater and greater heights of flight for themselves. Trying to make up for what they thought were insufficient wings, they tried to bind the air itself to their will.
This proved to be too much for one person to handle. They may have gotten their wish, but theĆr mind was fragmented over the entire world, each current of air, each breath, each closing door, each word carries a small amount of their essence. Only in large storms, when enough winds come together, will enough personality be brought back together to create at least the semblance of a person - a person capable of grasping the terrible fate that has befallen them.

Worship

Worshippers

Few truly worship the Winds as their gods, but many pay tribute to them. Among those mostly sailors and farmers. One wishing for strong winds to carry them to their destination, the other hoping that the wind may bring rain when it is needed and keep it away when the harvest comes. Those that value freedom above everything else love the wind as it can go everywhere it desires.
Priests
Among The Firebrands many clerics can be found, they bless others with great speed and curse their foes to be swept away by the storms.
Paladins
Rarely will you find those capable warriors in heavy and bulky plate armour. Many of them prefer light to medium equipment, which allows for them to move through waves of enemies without ever getting hit, protecting their friends by taunting their foes in a playful manner, focusing their attention them.

Acts of Worship

Free those that are bound, explore and discover the world. Go where no one has been before.

Temples

Worshipping the Winds in a closed building would be detrimental to say the least. Ceremonies, blessings and the like are always performed in the open air and become stronger during naturally ocurring bouts of wind and storm.

Long before any of us existed, the Wind blew through the trees and it will do so lonng after all of us are gone
