Ulric Lonethorne

Ulric Lonethorne is the oldest son in the Lonethorn family. As such, he is hair to their fortune and their expectations. His younger brother is Rowan Lonethorne, a wizard who tried to make a name for himself in the shadow that Ulric unwittingly cast over him.

Prior to his younger brother leaving home, Ulric was 26 years old, had short silver-white hair, and lilac eyes. He possessed a muscular build and a proud manner of carrying himself. He was a proud paladin of Tyr, and it was said by many that his brilliant smile could light up a room. He followed a path of light, and was somewhat distrustful of arcane magic, such as that wielded by his younger brother. He has a pet fox named Enkai that accompanied him to training every morning.

After his little brother Rowan left home without a word, Ulric grew worried. Though Rowan assumed noone in his family would miss him, he had been wrong. Though his mother and father were not exceedingly worried about their youngest son, Ulric grew more worried by the day. Ignoring his family's wishes, Ulric left home in search of his brother, following trace stories of his exploits across the Shatterlands.
Through much trial and tribulation of his own Ulric ended up the captain of his own pirate ship, having been named such when the previous captain, a man with whom he had become close friends, passed away in a battle. Ulric took up the pirate name of The Sea Dog, and continued along in search of his brother, and leading his crew to treasure across the land.
Along the way, Ulric caught the attention of Umberlee, the Goddess of the Sea. One stormy night, under attack by an unknown ship, Ulric found himself overboard, and sinking deeper into the sea. His loyal fox Enkai was there with him. There, in the watery depths, when his final breath faded, Umberlee snatched his soul and made a deal with the paladin. Ulric shattered his bonds with Tyr and forged a new bond with Umberlee, becoming her champion on the sea. Enkai too, was risen in Umberlee's name, with his fur turning black and a green magical run shining upon his skin.

With his soul darkened but his desire to find his brother undiminished, Ulric carried on as before. During his journey he gained a new crew, one that called themselves the Blue Banner Brigade. He joined their ranks, and in their adventures together gained the gift of flight for his ship. With the Blue Banner Brigade Ulric finally found his little brother and, along with his allies, they promised to help Rowan and the Crimson 8 Heroes with their own adventure to save the world.
