Adopted NPCs & Familiars
Galdraskole, the Magic-Fed Lunar Dragon
Galdraskole took his name from the school on which he fed. It is unclear of his origins, whether he was summoned by mistake and devoured the inhabitants of the school, or if he was its guardian, and they abandoned the place for other reasons. What is clear is that the great dragon fed on the errant magics of the place, and that he amassed a great hoard in the giant gave beneath the tower. Galdraskole the dragon was fought by the party at the top of the tower, and seemingly defeated, only to show up again when they reached his hoard. Instead of a second fight, however, Jin-e, with the help of his great charisma and the power of his Blue Dragon Mask, was able to convince the dragon to join them instead, offering him worship as a god, and even a temple of his own. Galdraskole agreed.Vaati the Gazer
Vaati is a gazer, a tiny beholder-type creature that behaves much like a puppy (albeit a gross, fiendish one). Vaati was the summoned familiar to a young wizard at the magic school, Galdraskole, before an unknown cirumstance caused the school to be abandoned. Vaati was somehow left behind, where he waited for years upon years, until he found a new friend in the adventuring wizard, Rowan.Duane the Animated Golem
Duana, so named by Vash, was an animated golem guarding the way forward early on in Galdraskole. It was found with an enchanted knife carving deep runes into its surface. The party first had to figure out how to power to golem to get it to move, and then were tasked with defeating it, as it was clearly meant to be an obstacle to overcome. Instead, the party managed to find a way to bend the magic powering the golem to their will, and then convince it to join them. It has no sentience of its own, but follows the command of its new owners.Rudabaga the Somehow Living
Rudabaga is, quite simply, a rudabaga that Vash had Rowan turn into a Tiny Servant so many times that the constant magic, mixed with the chaotic magic near Galdraskole, caused Rudabaga to gain permanent sentience of his own. He hangs out in the crow's nest, but otherwise likes to cause mayhem with the crew of the ship. He lacks enough intellect to be trained much further beyond that of a normal dog, but he still somehow manages to pull little pranks. Though cute enough, his chuckle is the stuff of nightmares, and is brings to mind images of evil little demons across the veil, delighting in their torture. He never pranks his fathers, Vash and Rowan, but does like to rummage through their things.Skarn & Gneiss Tuffstone
These Rock gnomes followed the party back from Orphium, enamored by tales of their bravery. It was their hope to use the party as inspiration for their musical endeavors, and to provide them with a lasting legacy in return. Though some may initially think they are siblings, they are actually a happily married couple. This doesn't stop either of them from wandering off for.. amusement, and sometimes they wander off together. They are both content, and extremely happy to be on board the Efreeti's Fortune with such heroic muses.Bob the Flying Monkey
Bob was given to Vash as a reward for helping Blue Berryboots with her Mimic problem in Orphium. Vash treats Bob like a baby, and Bob basks in the affection. Bob, despite being very small and not very good in combat, placed second place in Biggy Basalt's Beastbattle Bets, mostly because the other animals took eachother out. Bob likes to hang out in the crow's nest, or climbing on people's heads.Nav the Kenku
Nav was found in an enchanted maze on an island of Kenku. Seemingly abandoned there, or perhaps she wandered there and got lost, she quickly stuck by Vash when she was found by the party. For some reason, the only word Nav said in the beginning (and she said it frequently, and with joy), was "KILL!" Over time she has picked up other words from the party and crew, such as: bastard, ballsack, kick in the dick, loot, f*ck you, ligma, Mama, Unca, Dada, kitty, Mirri, goat (which is meant to be "ghost"), and a few other choice words. She's still little, but she's learning the fighting style that seems to come natural to her, which is that of the rogue, and so she can be seen following Jin-e around, much to the dismay of many. She does seem, however, also interested in Gabriel and the shininess of his gear and spells.Chrysaor, the Golden Blade
This man-pig creature is the son of the defeated Medusa. He idolizes the party, trying to learn from each of them. In particular, he seems to favor Rowan. None, however, have made as deep an impression as Vash, who Chrysaor emulates to the best of his abilities. He is also quite fond of Aralia, seeing her as a bit of a surrogate mother, but he keeps his distance and does not push that relationship without her inviting him to it. Chrysaor is a tall humanoid beast who strives to keep his fur clean and brushed. The kobolds often help him with this task. Chrysaor is grown, and intelligent, but often regresses to a child-like mentality. The Mysterious Black Cat
This black cat has followed the party around since early in their adventure, and has taken to living on the ship with them. He can most often be found lounging with Aralia, seemingly reading books over her shoulder and stealing sips of her wine. He also likes to nap on Rowan's bed, or with Mirri.Update: one day Kedar, the mysterious stowaway, turned into the black cat in front of the party, ending the mystery of the black cat.
