7: Secret Tunnel

General Summary

Dear Diary,
We just woke up in the dungeon basement which turned out to not be a very nice place to sleep afterall. We are all ok but Bryton and Barkus are gone without a trace! Did he sneak home in the night? Was he eaten alive by mutated ardvarks? I'm not in love with him or anything! >:( But we can't leave without him. We're going to look around.
We looked all over and we didn't find Bryton or Barkus. All we found was a "scroll of counter spell" but we all already learned how to count in school so it sounds pretty useless to me!

Kestrel's papa woke up and started turning into a wolf again and he scratched her right on the face! Florian and my sister put their magic together and knocked him out good. I don't think he wants to be an evil werewolf but he just keeps changing. We will find a cure somehow.

We smelled a stinky incense smell and it was coming from the burned up tree lady who tried to kill us yesterday. We broke off some of her branches and Florian made them into charcoal and put them in a basket to make anti-werewolf smoke.

Kestrel found a secret tunnel on the other side of the bottomless hole and it went on and on and on until we were eventually in the old abandoned house of the family who dissapeared and is also super haunted and also that one time we snuck in and um the secret tunnel looked like this I think

So we tried to sneak Kestrel's papa to the doctor but the sheriff and his goons were standing around right in the town square with uncle Hal and the dictor and Bryton’s mom and even the Mayor. They said they were planning on rescuing us but I find that hard to believe! Florian spilled the beans even though he was turned into a goat and all of the sudden our sleepy werewolf turned into a very not sleepy werewolf. Everyone tried to pile on top of him but he was too strong

He bit the doctor and clawed everyone up. The Mayor shot him with an arrow and umm I tried to use fire on him but I think I just made some pies. Bryton's mom got all sliced up but thank goodness Florian used his goat powers to save her life!

We tried everything but werewolf papa got away again. Before he left, Kestrel was able to grab his glowing necklace. It was just like the one that Dave had when the headless horseman got him. The sheriff took the necklace with him to keep the truth from us kids once again.

Now that Kestrel doesn't have any parents she gets to live at my house! Which is very sad but also very fun. She gets to sleep in my brother's room since he is away at music camp. We had a pillow fight and stayed up late and qlso when we got home there was a magic ice flower on Sirene's pillow and she said it was a present from her FAIRY BOYFRIEND.
Wow. She might as well pack her bags and move to cootie town.

WAIT OH MY GOSH WE NEVER FOUND BRYTON!!
