The Angelic Era
The Angelic Era (AE) began over 5,000 years ago with the arrival of The Archangels, celestial beings embodying the Seven Heavenly Virtues. These divine entities descended upon the world now known as The Shattered Realm, bringing light, wisdom, and purpose to a land that was once barren and wild. The Archangels, in their benevolence, shaped the world into a paradise, and from their divine essence, they created mortals—beings of free will, destined to live in harmony with one another and the world around them.
Under the Archangels' guidance, mortals flourished, building grand civilizations devoted to the ideals of charity, humility, patience, and other virtues. The seven kingdoms of Virtus rose during this time, each one a testament to the unity and prosperity fostered by the Archangels' teachings. Mortals thrived in a golden age of peace and balance, living lives of purpose and contentment. Temples were constructed to honor the Archangels, and their relics were revered as symbols of hope and divine blessing.
For 5,732 years, the Angelic Era endured, an age unmatched in its harmony and prosperity. However, it was not without challenges. The Archangels taught mortals to resist the temptations of sin, warning that indulgence in greed, pride, wrath, and the like could bring ruin to the world they had built. Despite their guidance, seeds of darkness lingered, waiting for a moment of weakness.
The Angelic Era came to a devastating end with The Fall when The Demon Lords rose to power and unleashed chaos upon the world. The Archangels’ warnings proved true, as the sins exploited the flaws in mortal hearts, turning them against the virtues they once cherished. The golden age of Virtus was shattered, and the once-peaceful kingdoms fell under the dominion of sin.
Now, the Angelic Era exists only as a memory, preserved in legends and whispered by those who dare to resist the Demon Lords’ rule. Its relics and teachings remain scattered and hidden, waiting to be rediscovered by those who would bring light back to a broken world.
