Tyrael, Goddess of the Moons

Tyrael, Goddess of the moons is a Lawful Evil Goddess from the Pantheon of Perfection. Tyrael is less popular than Orym, Deity of the Sun but her followers often think she has a more important pull on the world. Tyrael and Orym also have somewhat of a rivalry. Some followers claim it is petty, similar to a sibling rivalry, but wars have been raged on their behalf, suggesting it is more than petty. As the moons have come to symbolize the night, Tyrael has accepted this as part of her image. She is often seen as the guardian of the darkness. Her followers preach that darkness is just as important to the world as the light. There is no day without night, and the moons are just as vital to life as the sun.

Tyrael is present in most temples of perfection and has many churches dedicated to her as well. She most notably had churhces in port towns where they often recognize her important contribution to the tides, and she is also quite highly worshiped by some of the less fanatic drow. Since the shattering, some churches dedicated to Tyrael have also popped up on important islands and land masses with followers claiming that the shattering actually gave Tyrael greater power and importance as the moons effect the shifting land masses.
