Recent History
House Moretomb took rulership of the kingdom in 1357 after King Santiago of House Townham died of gout. The following year, 1358, the elves of the Republic of Telbeng'en started a war again, primarily at sea. The war lasted only 1 year. 5 years after the war King Owen died from a wound he had received during the war. His only son was age 1 so Lord Ethan ran the kingdom until the young Ian was old enough to be king. King Ian was poisoned at his 16th birthday celebration in the year 1382. None know who posioned the young king and no one stepped forward to claim the deed. After house debate, King Christian was crowned king. This year, 1386, King Christian died of old age and his oldest son, Mateo, named after the great king in the past, became king at the age of 9. The young soveign is guided by Regent Lord Christopher until King Mateo is able to run the kingdom on his own.Early History
Three thousand years ago in the year 2485 of the Age of Trials, the families came together as Charles of house Townham returned from his trial at the age of nineteen. Completing his trial the families declared him to be of noblest blood and crowned him the first king of En’rir. King Charles came to be called the Mirthful over the years. Four years after he was crowned king, Charles had an observatory built in his name to view the stars as part of what he had learned during his trials. This observatory stood for eight hundred and eleven years until Queen Lily of house Townham had the observatory destroyed. Of those eight hundred and eleven years, House Townham was the ruling house for six hundred and twenty four years.
Lily had become queen in a very bloody year. Two years before she took the crown a war with the Principality of D’elkishenat had started under the rule of Queen Nova of house Pickston. Queen Nova died of battlefield wounds and house Brownford took the momentary weakness of the house to take control of the kingdom. This change in rulership did nothing to stop the war with D’elkishenat and shortly after King Grayson of house Brownford also died of battlefield wounds. It was after this second death that house Townham regained control of the kingdom and Lily became Queen.
Three years passed and the war continued. Queen Lily thought that destroying the first monument built in the kingdom would deter the war. It took seven more years for the war to end and each year Queen Lily regretted having the observatory destroyed as she was able to trace her family line back to King Charles directly. Another one hundred and eighty one years would pass before house Townham would lose their control of the kingdom and House Pickston would take control and kick off thirty six years of house wars. During the house wars, the kingdom was in turmoil as house Townham tried to regain control. In the year 3513 AoT House Townham did regain control and King Alexander the clever was crowned.
Another one hundred and thirty eight years would pass in the kingdom under the rule of House Townham before House Cobwell killed Queen Madelyn the Terrible in a violent overthrow. This change in house rulership once again started a house war. Over the next One hundred and fifty two years the ruling house of the kingdom would change seventeen times. In 3803 AoT House Moretomb takes control under King Cooper the good. His child, Aiden would take the crown five years later after Cooper died of gout. King Aiden the Butcher ruled with an iron fist for eleven years before House Cobwell again took control after killing Aiden in a violent overthrow. House Cobwell and House Pickston fight over rulership for eighty years. During this time a seventy six year long war with the Principality of D’elkishenat ended and the Temple of Sadie was built.
In the year 3906 AoT, House Moretomb regained control under King Noah the farmer. Over the next one hundred and fifty years the ruling house of the kingdom once again changed hands fifteen times. House Pickston would hold rulership of the kingdom during the changing of the ages under the rulership of Queen Sadie the Merciless who ruled for forty two years through a fifteen year war with the Republic of Telbeng’en and an uprising that destroyed the Castle of Madelyn. Queen Sadie died from senility at the age of 56 and house Moretomb took the chance with the weakened house to take control of the kingdom, though this would again be a struggle for twenty years between House Moretomb and House Pickston.
In 71 AoG, House Brownford would usurp House Moretomb and start another house war that lasted until 201 AoG with House Pickston taking control from House Rothway under the young rulership of Queen Ella the Philosopher. Queen Ella would reign for fifty years before dying from natural causes. Her son, Julian, only ruled for a few months before being poisoned for being cruel. Another fifty years would pass under house Pickston rulership before House Moretomb would once again become the ruling house under King Leonardo the Builder.
House rulership exchanged hands a few more times over the next fifty years. In the year 461 AoG under House Pickston rule the kingdom had four rulers while being at war with the Nazinese Theocracy. King Greyson the Bald would die from assassination early in the year. His oldest daughter, Queen Ruby, held the crown for a few weeks until dying from gout. King Greyson’s second daughter, Queen Nova the Bad took the crown and took the field of battle against the Nazinese Theocracy which proved her undoing as she died from battlefield wounds a month after being crowned. Her oldest daughter, Queen Natalia was only age 8, but was crowned queen in place of Brooklyn, third daughter of King Greyson, for she too had died in the battle that took Queen Nova. The young Queen Natalia was guided by Lady Everleigh until she was able to rule on her own. The war with the Nazinese Theocracy ended the following year.
Years of growth, wars and ruling house exchanges lead to the year 1187 AoG. The year starts off well with the Observatory of Owen being completed. King Owen would die shortly after this though from wounds attained earlier in his life. House Moretomb would take control of the kingdom. King Daniel would die from natural causes shortly after taking the crown. Having no children, so his sister, Queen Audrey would pick up the crown. She too would die from what was ruled as natural causes. Also having no children, her brother, King Asher would take the crown and reign for a year before suffering a wound on the hunt. His brother, King Everett was crowned king.
House Moretomb would remain the ruling house for sixty years. During that time, King Mateo the Clever would rule for thirty years. During his life he had the Castle, Temple, Statue and Shrine of Mateo built, most of which are still standing to this day.
