The Assassin and Shield
You make your way through the town of Lakepass until you come to an inn, which is called The Assassin and Shield, a cavernous shabby adobe inn with a thatched roof that the locals know best for its mahogany stairs.
The Assassin and Shield is no larger or nicer than you would expect; the rather filthy inn is almost the platonic ideal of your average watering hole. The flag of the town is hung prominently above the bar. You can barely hear each other over the din of the other patrons, who are pretty rowdy. One elbows you in the ribs as they try to get around you to the bar.
Behind the counter is who you would assume to be the bartender, a light skinned medium sized human who is currently barking orders at one of the barmaids. You walk up to the bar, and strike up conversation with the man, who introduces himself as Cameryn Burnside, the proprietor of The Assassin and Shield.
On offer today
There's the usual house-brewed ale on tap, but it is warm and under carbonated. You suspect that Cameryn has watered it down. As far as food is concerned, there is the usual mutton and breads available. The house cheese is 2 Silver 1 Copper and is a pale yellow cheese which is rock hard. It smells like fresh cream, and tastes salty, but immediately the spice from the peppers takes over. Menu
