Arsine Zeroth is a powerful mage who is the Mistress of Shadows of the Coralla Game Masters, as well as being the Head Wizard of Enchantment in the Mystic Compendium.
  Her reputation is that of an extremely disagreeable, and yet extremely confident, mage. She has many enemies, and very few friends.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Arsine maintains the utmost standards in taking care of herself, and so is in excellent physical condition, especially considering her age. Part of this is due to the fact that she has spent years slowing her aging with magic, and so she appears at least three decades younger than her actual age.

Body Features

As well as keeping herself young, Arsine has also used magic to enhance her physical features, most prominently her chest, waist, and hips. On top of this, her alterations have given her perfect, unblemished porcelain coloured skin, and a tall frame.

Facial Features

The magic alterations have also been used on her face - as a result of them, Arsine has youthful and well defined features, with clear blue eyes and bright lips. The effect comes off as her wearing rather perfect makeup at all times.
  Her hair is also effected - despite it being long enough to almost reach her waist, it never tangles and never loses its sheen. It is a light blonde that is uncommon outside of children and people descended from divinity.

Apparel & Accessories

Arsine Zeroth favours the colour black - her outfits tend to have it as their primary colour, though frequently with linings of another colour. Her clothes are usually tight, and contain a window to display her cleavage, though they also tend to have a flowing aspect such as a cape or long skirt.
  She is usually seen wearing arm length black gloves, as well as a golden pendant that holds the symbol of her family on it. Her last common accessory is a hat - she has several varieties, but she is almost never seen without one.

Personal history

Arsine Zeroth was born to the Zeroth family in the year 1715, in their manor on Coralla . She was the firstborn child, disappointing her father, Arton Zeroth who had hoped to have a boy in order to take over his role as the Master of Shadows for the Coralla Game Masters . As a result, he treated her poorly during her childhood - this only got worse when her mother, Enifin Zeroth, died giving birth to her younger brother, who was himself stillborn.
  Arsine grew up avoiding the wrath of her father, spending time instead with her tutor, a Tortle called Unn. Unn recognised at a young age that she was a remarkably intelligent young girl, and when she began to show magical talent he suggested to Arton that she be sent to study with the Mystic Compendium . Arton agreed, knowing that it would get her out of the way.
  In 1722, Arsine arrived on Penta, where the academy of the Mystic Compendium awaited her. She impressed her teachers with the understanding of concepts that were far beyond her years, and quickly was taught the more advanced magics that were usually reserved solely for the older students.
During her fifth year at the school, a routine duelling exercise went wrong, and Arsine accidentally killed her opponent. Rather than being horrified as most children would, Arsine was surprised to find that she was satisfied with the way she had been able to end the life of another.
  In 1732, ten years after arriving at the academy, Arsine graduated and returned home for the first time in a decade. She learned that, in her absence, her father had remarried and fathered two sons, the older of whom was set to inherit her father's position at the time of his death. Arsine decided that she was clearly not wanted here and left to travel the archipelago.
  Over the course of her travels, Arsine's power and understanding of magic grew. At some point, she met Kazilon Zarmanin , who was the arbiter and lord of Jeti. They found that they had many similar ideas about the world, and Kazilon ended up revealing his plans to take over the archipelago to her, and she agreed to be a part of his plan.
  In 1750, Arsine returned to the Mystic Compendium, and became a full member of its spellcasting ranks. Over the next few years, she worked her way up the ranks until she gained the title of the Headmistress of Enchantment when the former holder of the position passed away in his sleep.
  Soon afterwards, Arsine returned to Coralla, having been gone for decades. She was taken into the house of her father as a guest, though he made it clear that his sons were still favoured over her. That night, the manor mysteriously caught fire and burned to the ground, with Arsine being the only survivor.
  Following the death of Arton, Arsine was allowed to present herself to the Game Masters. Upon sufficiently proving to them that she was capable of becoming the new Mistress of Shadows, she took her seat, and began to play the part that Kazilon had indicated within his plan. From that point, she split her time between the Mystic Compendium and the Game Masters.

Gender Identity

Arsine identifies as female. Though in her younger years she occasionally wished that she had been born a boy, this was due to the abuse that she suffered at the hands of her father which she knew wouldn't have happened were she not a girl. Once this influence was removed, she never again showed any signs of disliking her gender.

Sexuality

Arsine was never known to hold any romantic relationships, though she has had several sexual partners, all of whom were male.

Education

Arsine was educated by a private tutor for the first few years of her education. Due to the expense of said tutor, she gained a good understanding of numbers and literature, as well as beginnings in languages.
  Her ten years of study with the Mystic Compendium included intense education in the above subjects, giving her a far above average education. She was also taught a very high standard of magic, specialising in enchantment magic. 
  As a result of gaining a high position within the Mystic Compendium, Arsine also gained access to many rare texts - as a result, she has access to knowledge that few have access to.

Failures & Embarrassments

Arsine Zeroth has failed exactly twice in her life.
  The first was when she was still in the academy. It was a challenge to all the students to complete a difficult spell that very few held the knowledge to complete. Despite working on it for several weeks and doing countless hours of research, Arsine was not able to complete the spell.
  The second time was much later in life, during her experiments. One of her subjects was a kobold named Lake Fogstalker, and she had been brought to the laboratory with two children in tow. While it would have been simple enough to simply control her directly and force her to kill said children, Arsine wanted to see if it would be possible to make her genuinely wish to do so. However, despite weeks of effort, Arsine was unable to override the fundamental urge that Lake held to love and protect her children. Eventually her mind broke, and Arsine was forced to dispose of her. Though she kept the tail as a trophy.

Mental Trauma

It could be said that Arsine carries some mental trauma from being abused as a child. It has left her unable to form real attachments as her trust issues are too strong - she now only sees people in terms of utility - what they can provide her. Her closest approximation of a friendship, the one with Kazilon Zarmanin, only exists because she stands to gain power when his plans come to fruition.

Intellectual Characteristics

Arsine is not especially intellectually curious. While many mages spend their time studying constantly for more information about the universe, Arsine tends to only do so if there is specific information that she requires for some spell or plan. 
  The one thing that she is a lot more curious about is people. She spends a lot of time trying to understand how the mind works, with the specific goal of using this information to find new ways to bend the mind to her will. 

Morality & Philosophy

Arsine Zeroth believes that having the capability to do something gives one the moral license to do so without feeling guilt. Therefore, if the victim of a crime was not able to prevent the wrong that was done to them, then ultimately they have no cause to complain about their fate.
  Another key aspect of her philosophy is that good and evil are farcical ideas, and that anyone who puts stock in them are fools. Evil is just a word used by victims to describe those that they have been unable to compete with.
  On a more personal note, Arsine has found that she enjoys the suffering of others - more specifically, she enjoys the point of realisation of what is happening on her victims. Such as realising that they are about to die, realising that they have just been forced to kill their friend, realising that a loved one has been killed - for example.

Taboos

Despite her outlook on life permitting almost all actions, there is exactly one line that Arsine will not cross, and that is that she will not use her abilities to force any creature to do anything sexual to any other. There is no particular reason for this, but she finds it disgusting to do so.

Contacts & Relations

Kazilon Zarmanin - It is not accurate to call the relationship between Arsine Zeroth a friendship or a partnership. It is perhaps more accurate to say that they work together, and are some of the only people in the world that know that they work together. It is understood that one day, Kazilon will rule and Arsine will have a position akin to a second in command.
  Unn - As the former tutor of Arsine, the tortle Unn still holds a place in her estate. While it cannot fully be said that she cares for him, there is at least a little affection that Arsine holds towards the one positive aspect of her childhood. As for Unn, though he does not approve of the terrible things that Arsine does, his loyalty to her is unending.
  The Mystic Compendium Headmasters - Arsine views the other headmasters of the Mystic Compendium with something between contempt and apathy. She feels that they squander the almost limitless power that they have at their fingertips by continuing to act at the will of the Congregation.

Family Ties

Arsine holds no family ties, having lost all the members of her immediate family to a tragic fire that also claimed her home and left her as the only survivor. The fact that her extended family all died over the course of the next few months was, in fact, a total coincidence.

Religious Views

For the sake of appearing pious, Arsine maintains the illusion that she worships the Old Gods, even keeping a small shrine to them in her home. In reality, she holds no religious faith, seeing those who put their faith in the gods are just making excuses as to their own failings.

Social Aptitude

Due to her high-class upbringing, Arsine is able to move incredibly easily in the circles of high society, having perfect etiquette and manners. People have also said that, while she is not inherently likeable, she holds a charisma that makes it very difficult not to have one's attention drawn to her at all times - it is unclear whether this is something she has cultivated naturally, or whether she uses some sort of magic to make herself more charismatic.

Speech

Arsine speaks in a High Cluster accent, which is characterised by the clarity of all of the consonants and the shortness of the vowel sounds. It is unclear where she might have picked up this accent, as the Coralla accent tends to place less emphasis on plosive consonants to a noticeable degree, and the Mystic Compendium is sufficiently multicultural that the students tend to either retain their home accent or adopt a fairly neutral one.
  She also makes common use of Clusterian lingo - examples would include referring to the evening meal as supper, or describing positive things as "hunky-dory". However, she does have a tendency to overuse these types of lingo, which would seem to betray that she is, in some way, acting.
