The Fertile Cities

Sometimes miracles do happen.   Even in the blighted, grey Ruins, sometimes life finds a way.   It's said that due north and to the east, the empty wreckage of the Twin Cities now grows green with life.   Fully alive, fully organic, fully non-irradiated animals wander streets lush with vegetation.   Edible plants, wholly grown, watered with the rains of cold winters turned warm, grow up the sides of buildings and through empty offices.   The Fertile City lives, and is unclaimed by any corporate city-state. Why? How? And can anyone else make their way there? Are there humans alive within its walls, untainted like the flora and fauna?

Geography

A forest the size of the city, lush vegetation growing from every open building. Some way, somehow, the end of the world missed this place, and its life grew. Great trees grow through cracks in concrete, vines overtaking buildings. The land of a thousand lakes has kept some close, against all odds. The Twin Cities are now a fertile spot of hope in a wasteland of dust.

Fauna & Flora

The flora and fauna of Minnesota flourishes here for over 200 miles. Restored in ways the apocalypse should have devastated, elk, bison, caribou, and martens live and flourish, fearing only the bobcat, the wolf, and the bear. Migratory birds travel from here to, perhaps, another safe place - one unknown by any others in North America. Pine and spruce trees grow wild, and bushes and brush rule the landscape.

Natural Resources

Wood from the forests, animals running wild, this place would be a paradise to any who find it - and a treasure fit for plundering if a corp were to find it. If it were to be located, there would be war for what it can provide, and it would unlikely survive the fighting. Just another victim of the incessant greed of the Corps, and the fanaticism of those most loyal to them.

corporate city-state
That is an excellent term that I will have to remember. The hints of the greater world dropped throughout the article (ruins of america, corporate-city states, irradiated wild life) along with the elder god in your name piques my interest into the rest of the setting.   Something you could do is to add a short description and link to the region where the cities are found perhaps, to give reader somewhere to click and go next. Induce some wikipedia syndrome. :)   Nicely done - I look forward to reading more of this stuff across Summer Camp!
