The Jhongguo Syongdihuei

The Sinitic Brotherhood (Jhongguo Syongdihuei) is an inter-dimensional organization focused on documenting, studying and cataloguing Higher Beings (what they term 'Shen') that exist across the Five Worlds. A Shen is classified as anything that could threaten a universe or multiple life-hosting solar systems.

They currently have their headquarters hidden in Bathyphysa.

Structure

The head of the JSH is J.J., who goes by the alias of Yanmo ('Leader'). Underneath him are twelve Mudu (Magisters), each supported by six Fuduodan (Episcopes), each Episcope with five Mosiside (Seniors). Under them are the Diannawu (Secretaries), and under the Secretaries are the Noushayan (Record Keepers).

The Keepers work as spies across the Worlds and make records of the Shen they encounter, the Secretaries form the military branch of the JSH, the Seniors manage the military, the Episcopes organize the Seniors and protect the Magisters, and the Magisters protect the Leader.

Public Agenda

To study all Higher Beings in an effort to defeat them should they pose a threat. They also provide information to the Council.

Assets

The greatest Bathyphysan asset of the JSH is the Hotel Taclano (Takelanuo Jioudian).

Mac Taclano, Magister to Jhongshen from 1930 to 1947, established the Hotel in 1936 (going by the year in Dimension XI).

The Hotel is a regular four-star establishment on the outside. Reached via tram, a large statue of Kong Fuzih greets guests as they enter a lavish palace decked with red velvet carpets, gold curtains and marble floors and pillars.

Having sent spies to assist the Allies during the Second World War in Dimension XI, the Hotel grants Jewish guests ten percent off all meals as a company courtesy. The Taclano family were members of various Italian resistance groups who fought the Repubblica Sociale Italiana from 1943 to 1945, so paintings and monuments to the bravery of 'La Resistenza' can be found across the Hotel, mixed in seamlessly with artwork that reminds the Yanmo of his old home.

But hidden away in a corner, guarded by bronze statues of cilin and shihzih, is a green door that leads directly to JSH Headquarters, a portal of sorts that connects the Hotel to its homebase. As there is a branch of the Hotel in each Dimension (apart from the last five), JSH agents can freely move between Worlds while also having the time to rest and recuperate.

History

In Dimension XI on November 12, 1866, a star fell over Beijing. This star was a naked man, covered in scars from crown to toe. Along his spine the words 'Jhongshen Zujhou Wo' ('The Gods Curse Me') were carved, seemingly from a heated blade.

He awoke with missing memories and was found by some local students. They nursed him back to health, soon figuring out that this alien was quite intelligent despite his amnesia. In the time he spent there he proved himself to be well-versed in various forms of science, knew over thirty written and spoken languages (some not Earthly) and was a skilled fighter.

He grew in reputation and eventually became a scholar. Having no name, he was simply called 'Jhongshen Jhihwang' by his associates, or 'J.J.' for short. In his time on the earth he continued to talk about an impending threat he sarcastically named 'Mingjie Wushang Mingzun' ('Venerable Divinity of the Lightworld'), one of the few memories he retained, and so in 1925 the ageless being founded an organization to research the Shen, in the hope that one day they could defeat the Threat through understanding entities like It.

He took his followers with him in 1926 and disappeared to a new Dimension, and there they built what would become the JSH.

Secular with a focus on the Cosmic Serpents. The JSH database has entries on over seventy Higher Beings, but the Serpents are especially studied.
