The Council of Jameses

The Council was established by Captain Richard a decade prior to oversee the Dimensions and ensure that world-threatening threats were suitably dealt with. The suggestion was given to him by a visiting fox-spirit named Sobo, who met him at a café before his planet was destroyed in a cataclysmic war.     All members are Reflectants of a person usually known as James (depending on the plane of existence), and their names (and alter egos used on missions) are as follows:     Jean-Baptiste de la Putain, or Jacobin James, from Dimension II, where Earth is in the 18th century. A member of the Société des Jacobins, which had great influence during the French Revolution. His alter ego is The Friend.     Sarikushta the Lion, or Persian Warrior James, from Dimension III, currently in the third century CE. An Indo-Sasanian convert to Mandaeism, his alias means "Lion of Truth" (from Persian "šêr" and Mandaic "kušṭa"). His alter ego is The Moon.     James Dunkel, or Latter-day Saint James, from Dimension IV, currently in the year 1870. A member of the community that travelled from Nauvoo, Illinois, to Salt Lake City in the 1840s. His alter ego is The Salamander.     Jacobus Helvidius Sergius, or Roman James, from Dimension V, currently in the first century CE. A citizen from Roman Judaea, Jacobus son of Joannes (Ya'aqōv ben Yōḥānān) took part in the Bar Kokhba revolt. His alter ego is The Candle.     Childeric, or Barbarian James, from Dimension VI, currently in the fifth century CE. A citizen of a Frankish territory in Metz, with a quick temper but big heart. His alter ego is The Wagon.     Udros, or Neanderthal James, from Dimension VII, currently in the year 2200 BCE. A farmer from the Yamnaya culture, skilled in archery. His alter ego is The Otter.     Lygpt, or Unicorn James, from Dimension VIII, a Dimension in the thirtieth century CE inhabited by Monocerotes, horse-like beings that can vomit entire universes. Don't give him or any other Monoceros coffee, onions, or meat. His alter ego is The Knight.     Hermod, or Monkey James, from Dimension IX, currently in the second century CE. A Dane with a knack for axe-wielding, said to have the power to commune with the dead. He was cursed to live with the face of a Barbary macaque after angering an old witch. His alter ego is The Horseman.     James Slattery, from Dimension XI, a world overrun by a race of invasive aliens in 2015. Works at the Earlsville Cornet, enjoys reporting on the ground, and functions as the group's record-keeper. His alter ego is The Angel.     Lir, or Mermaid James, from Dimension XII, a world inhabited by Seirens (humans with the lower bodies of fish and large oily feathered wings). His alter ego is The Gorgon.     Epistaxis, or Goat-Headed James, from Dimension XIII, a world ruled by goat-headed humanoids with magical abilities. He functions as the "wizard" of the Council, as well as their medical expert and head scientist. His alter ego is The Karcist.     Blubblublub, or Octopus James, from Dimension XIV, a world inhabited by giant sentient octopi. The musician of the group, good with a drumset. His alter ego is The Whirlpool.     Moses, or Flying Spaghetti Monster James, from Dimension XV, a world in the twentieth century inhabited by floating squid-like entities made of fettuccine and meatballs, capable of using projectile pasta sauce as weapons. His alter ego is The Pirate.     Rupert Randalbeam, or Cowboy James, from Dimension XVI, currently in the eighteenth century. Good with a gun and a bullwhip. His alter ego is The Cavalero.     Richard Junglenoodle, or Captain James, from Dimension XVII, a world destroyed by a great war and now ruled by sapient sheep. The group's leader: strong, kind, charismatic, stupidly brave. His alter ego is The Snake.     I4M3S, or Robot James, from Dimension XVIII, a futuristic reality in which Earth was destroyed by a meteoroid on July 6, 2788 CE. The weapons expert of the group. His alter ego is The Relic.     Sugardrop Buttermuffin, or Cookie James, from Dimension XIX, a 1960s world run by living confectionaries. There is currently a war going on between the Gummy Worms and the Rice Crispies. His alter ego is The Treat.     Awoo, or Killer-Whale James, from Dimension XX, a 216th-century world in which humans went extinct and orcas became the next apex species. His alter ego is The Blackfish.     The Reflectants excluded from the Council are:     Dimension I: James Dunkle, or James "Prime", the "original" James of the Dimensions (this is subjective, as each Reflectant would consider themselves to be the original version). Living in the year 2012.     Dimension X: Urtzi Zubiaga, or Mercenary James. A Basque sniper currently living in the USSR. Offered a seat at the Council, but rejected it so he could fight fascists with the Allies.     Dimension XXI: UNKNOWN     Dimension XXII: UNKNOWN     Dimension XXIII: UNKNOWN     Dimension XXIV: UNKNOWN     Dimension XXV: UNKNOWN

Structure

In imitation of King Arthur's round table, where each member has an equal say in the management of the group, and all votes must be unanimous.

Public Agenda

Protection of the Dimensions and those living in them.

History

Richard enjoyed a good cup of coffee with a fresh donut. Raspberry jelly with white chocolate sprinkles. Today, however, things would take a different turn.     A fox-spirit from a neighbouring Dimension met him in his usual spot, Aegir's Coffeehouse. She brought bad news.     "It's time you reached out to your counterparts, Rich. Dimensional alliances will be vital in the coming years."     He had always assumed other worlds existed, but this was a confirmation. His research would finally be useful.     "How do I reach out?"     She handed him a chunky black cellphone and a piece of paper with numbers on it.     "You can call your Reflectants with this. I leave the rest up to you."     He would reach out to as many as he could. His world was destroyed soon after.

Technological Level

The Council has recently developed Dimensional travel with the help of the natives of Dimension XVII. Previous world-hopping required the powers of Epistaxis.
