They've been called hundreds of names in thousands of cultures. To some they are gods, to others monsters. Many members of the Council worship and study them.
The Cosmic Serpents care little about the Dimensions. Their realm, Ameleouth, can only be accessed by a brass Gate outside of space, its ground death-black and covered in large miles-long cracks. Within these cracks are glimpses of serpentine coils, black and oily, shifting and writhing like intestines in a colossal stomach. There they live their lives, sometimes moving around to get some warmth from the purple sun in the sky.
At will they can move time forward, or reverse it and make the universes cease to exist. All, good and evil, fear them.

Each snake is 880,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 metres long and 44,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 metres wide. Babies are as big as adults and their size never changes. They neither eat nor slumber.

The most remarkable feature of the Cosmic Serpents is their longevity, surpassing all other mortal beings. A Cosmic Serpent has seven life stages:

In the beginning Tagaats, the God of Music, sang into existence Ophiomorphos, the first Cosmic Serpent.
The serpent divided himself in two: one half became the first generation of celestial serpents in the skies and earth, the other half became the stars in the heavens, the next generation. Hence there is a cycle where a generation will replace the previous one as soon as it passes.
