Ayca

A centaurian people with the lower bodies of long-legged canines, the Ayca are the most common and by far the most cosmopolitan race of centaurian in Aydah . Known (and commonly stereotyped) as wild and individualistic, most Ayca live in small nomadic family bands wandering the valleys, plains and mountains. Specific practices and traditions vary wildly from culture to culture. In Aydah, many Ayca live in the region's cosmopolitan towns, particularly Sanpoi .

Basic Information

Anatomy

Ayca resemble the classical concept of a centaur with one key difference; instead a horse's body from the neck down, they have the form of a long-legged, furred canid. Ayca also tend towards wild hair in colors similar to that of their fur; and fur typically covers their arms and hands from just above the elbow down. Their ears are of a canid type and mounted atop their head (where human ears would be is just smooth, bare skin, typically hidden under the race's wild hair)

Civilization and Culture

Common Dress Code

Both sexes among most Ayca cultures worldwide typically wear nothing but a simple vest, tunic, or chest wrap and traditional jewelry. However, in cold and snowy Aydah, Ayca dress typically consists of a thick coat over their humanoid halves; the fur of most Aydah Ayca is more than sufficient for keeping their canine halves warm.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

While many Ayca of Aydah live in the region's bustling settlements, many others travel in the traditional family bands. These latter groups come into frequent contact with the Sayasak, who live a similar nomadic lifestyle. The similarities between Ayca nomads and the Sayasak does not go underappreciated. Even in the towns Ayca are known to get along well with urban Lizardfolk, perhaps due to a shared social experiences as the most "animalistic" of the races common in Aydah.
