Nihil Durat, The Weeping Ruin
Nihil Durat is the goddess of ruin and loss. She is the grim reminder that all things come to an end, from the most obscure individuals, to the greatest of kings. She takes the form of a large, shadowy figure with elongated limbs and glowing white eyes. A large rune glows on her chest, and the sound of a ticking clock followers her wherever she goes. A large cloud of dust surrounds her, as things rapidly decay and fall apart in her presence. She seems to always be crying, as if mourning the destruction around her, but those who have gotten close have reported that a cruel smile on her face, obscured by the dust.
Nihil Durat feeds on the fear of loss. She taunts people with the constant reminder that everything they value is temporary, and that all things fall to ruin in time. More than the other gods of the Dark Cosmos, Nihil Durat takes a deep interest in individuals, especially important and powerful figures. She does not directly harm those she targets, instead she whispers in their ears, reminding them about how easy it would be for them to lose everything. Her followers might go after her victims families, undermine their business, or work to collapse their nations entirely, but the main target will always be kept unharmed so that Nihil Durat might fully drink in their grief. When a chosen victim has truly lost everything and is at the depth of their grief, Nihil Durat will either finally leave them alone, or she will recruit them as a follower.
Worshippers of Nihil Durat usually begin as her victims. Some respond to overwhelming sorrow by lashing out against the world, and decide to inflict their sadness on others. Some also recognize they are being targeted before they have lost everything, and instead try to make an agreement to work for the goddess to protect what they care about. Those that do usually still end up suffering loss as people realize what they are doing, and reject them for serving an evil goddess. Followers of Nihil Durat are patient in their schemes. They are known to monitor a target, and wait for them to be at their happiest, sometimes even going so far as to help them achieve success, just so they can swiftly and suddenly take it away. Other times they will work slowly, gradually escalating their actions against an individual, to keep them suffering for as long as possible.

The symbol of Nihil Durat is a series of tear drops above a wicked, smiling mouth. Some followers will deliberately scar this symbol onto their faces.
Tenets of Faith
Followers of Nihil Durat are to spread sorrow wherever they go, and remind the world that joy is fleeting. Laughing or expressing happiness in the presence of Nihil Durat, or in a place consecrated to her, is strictly forbidden, and is sure to deeply anger the goddess.
