The Natural Disasters #13: Night's Arrival

General Summary

As the party readied themselves for a fight, the bells of the shop's entrance rang. In walked a pale, strange figure. All of the party spoke to this person, and they learned their name is Nix. After their brief introductions, they watched as the agile creatures they faced at the ship were in here as well.
One rushed forward and stabbed at the adventurers while the other let out a debilitating scream that forced Nix to flee the shop. Eventually, the party's ability to slaughter overpowered the speed of the two attackers, and they won the fight.
Bear clandestinely took items along with Wong Wi, and then the party as a whole travelled onwards. While they walked, Bear stole from Wong Wi and found a strange eye in his possession. Wong Wi caught Bear attempting to steal from him, and he spoke to him about what occurred.
On their journey's path, they noticed as a guard post resided over an abandoned tavern. Three figures rushed forward and struck at the adventurers while four shot from the building's roof.
After dealing with the warriors, they rushed to the tavern. Inside they found the bodies of adventurers and broken furniture and bottles. Traversing the stairs to the roof, they faced the ranged opponents who had been plaguing them and dealt with them accordingly. Inside the building, Bear picked up a ring that looked similar to a spell scroll.
Then, Wong Wi leads the party around the castle rather than elsewhere to reach wherever the tendril of darkness leads. On this short journey the group argues on whether or not to enter the thieves' market before heading to the last tendril's landing. The decision is in the negative, so they all rush to the tendril that leads to a darkened building.
Wong Wi promised to cover the entrance of the alley that led to this hidden building while the others entered to see what happened within. Bear kept an eye out from the rooftop whilst the others entered the building, but he then saw some strange anomaly of light outside the building. Bear attempted to warn the group, and Hope rushed outside to see what the issue was. Then, Ariel, Nix, and Kriv saw as some creatures walked from another room of the smithy they were in. One was seemingly a magical corrupted gnome and one seemed to be a young boy with a long sword.
A fight ensued where the young boy casted magic upon the group, and then Wong Wi revealed himself as an Oni who now attacked the group. As the fight went on, the group was looking dire, but a very badly wounded Wong Wi escaped before they could slay him, and they managed to slaughter the young boy with the focus of Ariel on damaging him. However, the gnome was able to banish Hope, and she found herself above a cavern staring as four armed purple and red creatures crawled towards her. To her side she saw a city that seemed to glow of some metal. However, the others managed to defeat the gnome and bring Hope back before long. 
As the party plans to burn the bodies of the creatures they defeated, they read the inscription of the tablet: "A child, lost and deluded. His blade a friend that survives the death. When blade and he in earth tossed, the end for him is the end of the dark." They conclude that this means they need to bury the boy, and his blade, so they begin to do so. 
Once the party has buried the boy and begin to lay his blade upon him, it awakens and begins speaking to Ariel and Hope. It claims that fate has been altered and that if they fail, to not fret as there is another in existence. He also mentions the Olympians but fails to mention the Chosen One spoken of by the Ishtari. He is then laid to rest with the boy. 
Nix and Bear argue about the spell-storing ring they have found. Nix goes and returns it to its owner, but Bear retrieves it after they Nix finished their righting of wrongs. From there, the Elturguardians begin pushing back the spawn of darkness. The group meet with Eleanor and speak to her about what is to come.
Next, the adventurers ride to the North Eastern tendril, but on their travel, they feel as something changes and their own darkness begins to consume them emotionally, yet the tendril only ventures physically to the mountains. They follow this, and they make their way to a valley of darkness.
Seeing the valley, they enter, and become terrified of what is within: animals. Bear moves towards the tablet the creatures surround. He makes it pretty close, but he is unable to see any words upon it. As he is looking closer, a two headed hound begins searching for something, and it finds Bear. A fight ensues where a bipedal toad reveals itself and attempts to eat members of the party before returning to shadow. The toad manages to slink away while the animals are murdered, and the party approaches the tablet of the mountain.
