Mushroom Forest of Jyay

The Final Realm has a great many strange and wonderous places within it, but by far the strangest is what is referred to as the Mushroom Forest of Jyay. Named after the Catkin explorer who found it, the forest contains massive mushrooms that rival the jungle trees of the Troll Realm.   Much like actual mushrooms, the 'trees' of the forest come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are flat-topped, others domed, with a large variety of types in between. The massive mushrooms are not the only type, but since they block out mush of the misty sunlight, the ones beneath the canopy are far smaller, the tallest coming up to only the height of a person.   Many of these smaller ones are bioluminescent, giving the under canopy a strange, eerie feeling. In some areas, not even that light is offered, the area only lit by the weak rays of sunlight that manage to make it through the canopy. The beasts that inhabit the area have adapted in strange ways, some having mushrooms growing from their skin, other appear to vanish in the light offered by them.   The different types of mushrooms have different effects, some able to be used to replace ingredients in potions, some deadly poisons, and others hallucinogens of varying strength. Because of how dangerous the Mushroom Forest is, only a small portion of the available area has been mapped and explored in its totality.   The forest is nestled between two mountain ranges and goes until it reaches the Void Mist that boarders the Final Realm. In fact, the area of Mist that boarders the Mushroom Forest was the first section of Mist that was discovered in the Final Realm, destroying the idea that it was the only Realm not affected by it.
