The Grand Library
Purpose / Function
Public access to a huge catalogue of books and manuscripts ranging all subjects. Though finding something specific is quite difficult due to the unorganized nature of The Grand Library, you can always ask the helpful scholars that work at the circular desk in the center of the 1st floor. It's a shame that there's only two of them at any given time, and that the line-up is usually overwhelmingly massive.
There is also a section of the Grand Library that is used as a reading/study room, with many tables and private booths.
Alterations
The Grand Library was expanded in 811AC with a huge reading/study space to accomodate its increased popularity as science and technology have expanded in the Modern Era.
Architecture
The Grand Library is one of the largest buildings in Norbury, only losing out to the slightly bigger Ravenhawk Academy of the Arts . The library itself boasts an impressive amount of storeys, each lined with rows of disorganed bookshelves. Though the building itself is massive, some kind of illusion magic was clearly used to increase the height of the Grand Library. There are two staircases that span from the bottom to the top of the library, on the East and West sides. Each storey is a large rectangular space with an opening in the center protected by a metal railing and that gives a view of the floors below.
