Satyrs

'What's the point of life, if not to have fun? So have fun! Drink, eat, party! That's the satyr way!' - Xavin Clovenhoof, reveller
Once, satyr were a Fae race, but that changed with the ascension of the goddess Renvi. Suddenly, they found themselves mortal, foreign in the Faewilds and possessing souls. While many view this change with displeasure, a great many remain dedicated to the lifestyle that they enjoyed as Fae - one of celebration, happiness, and a refusal to be bound by the shackles of their newfound mortality.

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

As with most Fae, satyrs prefer warm, damp areas, such as forests. While highly adaptable, they do feel the cold.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Satyrs are omnivorous, but greatly prefer rich foods, such as red meat or cheeses. Most of their liquid intake consists of wine.

Biological Cycle

The life cycle of Fae is unclear - it seems that most satyr have parents, but their lifespan, rate of aging, and reproduction are very vague - they are even said to be able to change sex as they like.

Additional Information

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Satyrs have a single name in Sylvan, a language mostly used by the Fae.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

The satyrs mostly speak Sylvan, the common language of the Fae.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Satyr culture is hedonistic, but rarely unfriendly. They may skirt the law with wild parties and pranks, but they are rarely genuinely malevolent.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Satyrs are liked by most species, but those responsible for enforcing the law may frown on their presence.
