Embers
A once consort to a fierce Summer King first established the Embers as her personal guard and entertainment, accepting only the best into her routine. Those with skills unusual and expert, with beauty and passion. When an ancient conflict with humans arose it was her suggestion to dispatch several of her routine to gather information, to stoke the embers and ensure that the fae were prepared. The intelligence gathered ended up being vital, and had her King asking her to over see a formal creation of courtesan's who could serve as diplomatic envoys, spies and anything else that might be needed.
And so the Embers were born.
Largely the Embers are courtesans, and have been for a long time, though they all learn self defense and most learn how to defend others. It is not uncommon for them to be hired to serve as a body guard and companion. Their expertise's vary, as much as the individuals themselves, exotic beauties in their own ways, no two are identical and they take pride in that. Sex is often a part of their offering, but not always required.
Formal training includes the art of love making, the exploration of kink, etiquette, dancing, history, languages of humanity, and then additional schooling depending on their own interests and skills. The Summer King can command them, but largely they operate on their own, overseen by the Jeweled Ember.
Many remain in Summer, content to offer pleasure to any fae that wants them and can afford the price they set for themselves and their time; some spend long years undercover, playing a role to unravel hidden things; others travel the Realms, offering their services in smaller Ember Caldera's, the large manor style houses where Embers receive clients and often live. Some even offer their skills to the other royal courts. Embers can be found almost everywhere, and come from any walk of life.
