Meta-Human

The colloquial term for humans with mutations or 'unusual' quirks which translate directly into abilities normally outside the scope of human capability. In other words, a human with superpowers.

Due to the nature of mutations and the act of acquiring them, meta-humans rarely share the same traits. Even those with similar superpowers may manifest themselves differently in the anatomy or physiology of the subject. As such, this umbrella term serves only to identify someone with superhuman capabilities.
