Hawk & Falcon - Twin Bladewavers

"There has to be a better way to perform crowd control than this."
-Garret Hawkes
One of many iterations of melee weaponry prototyped for New Detroit Covert Operations, the Bladewavers offered the ability to turn a near-hit into an actual hit by extending the range of melee strikes with the implementation of shaped force barrier projectiles. As NDCO favored weaponry set to non-lethal by default, the primary feature of the bladewavers is to project a blunt projectile at targets before the edge of the blade can make contact.
Though not as efficient in knocking enemies unconcious as its predecessors, featuring the ability to taze targets when struck, the bladewavers provided unmatched melee crowd control potential for one quick enough to use them.

As the generation and subsequent launching of shaped force barriers drained power cores rapidly, the bladewavers were always equipped with a kinetic dynamo to provide additional power, generated by the motion of the weapon, to the cores. The wielder is thus expected to frequently swing the sword to recharge its cores.
This implementation was seen as too clunky for most agents, resulting in the design being abandoned early on.

It wasn't until Garret Hawkes stumbled upon the old prototypes in Jacky's garage that they saw proper use.
Modified for his use, the bladewavers came to possess three blue power cores each and were fitted with questionite keychains at the end of their pommels. These modifications resulted in an increased projectile capacity and the ability to swing the weapons around by their chain to produce momentum rapidly to facilitate quicker recharge cycles.
