Welcome to The Realm of Tarsere

Welcome to The Realm of Tarsere

Tarsere is a semi-generic fantasy world cut off from the rest of the multiverse. It exists in a quantum sargasso and has very limited contact on a planar level with the typical D&D multiverse. As such, the species, creatures and cultures that have developed within the world share only a passing resemblance (at best) to typical examples of creatures of the same name.

Tarsere suffered a world altering, magical plague in the past that birthed many new creatures, monsters and species. While 1500 years in the past, the effects of the plague can still be felt in modern day.   The Realm exists on the planet, Dhara, and consists of the primary continent of Tarsere (where most adventures are focused). A second continent, called Saraetha, sits very close to Tarsere and includes the Zur-Ryk subcontinent. A third continent, known as Aras, is quite large and exists on the far side of the planet. It extends over the northern pole creating the peninsula known as the Jotunlands.   The species of Tarsere are divided into two broad classes: The Elder Races and the Younger. The Elder races, consisting of Elves, Saurial, Dragons and Humans, were directly created by the Gods. The younger races were created in the aftermath of the mutagenic plague that swept across the planet and reshaped it.   Humanity is the predominant culture within Tarsere, having spread across the world and dividing into approximately ten diverse and distinctive cultures with numerous subcultures. Elves are the secondmost populous species with four distinct tribes. Goblins, Saurial and (collectively) the three Bhastani species round out the top five most populous species.
