The Man in the Blue Short Pants
No one knows his name
His face is always the same
Long ago or far from now
He will be there anyhow
Come rain or snow or fires below
His short blue pants you'll always know
From door to door and far to near
But a blink and then he's here
Even the creator does not know from whence the man in the short blue pants came, but when River Peak Apothecary or any of its outposts gathers items it needs to transport from tower to tower, there he is. Like the old poem says, he arrives when your package is ready, and in but a moment it is at its destination. He does not ask where it is going, you do not need to tell him. If you ask him a question, he will give you a wry smile, but no more. As he leaves, he always turns back to give a wink and a tip of his wide straw hat. The moment you blink, he is gone.
