Blood of the Blood is the formal name for vampirism, a viral blood borne condition that kills its victims and their need for the sustenance their bodies have always needed, replaced by a craving for blood.
This condition bestows an undead immortality, a great resistance to physical damage except to the heart or brain, immunity to poison and cold, but standard vulnerability to fire remains (unless they started out with fire in their bloodlines).
The sun is their main enemy, the rays immediately burning them before disintigrating to dust if fully exposed for even a short time.
