Eidolons of the Avatars

A dead god still dreams, and so do their shards.

During the height of the common era, the avatars of the gods would clash often. And sometimes the avatar of the dispatched deity would sometimes not dis-corporate but would remain as a non-sentient shard of the god. But a non-sentient fragment of a god's avatar is still a clear and present danger.
