College of the Third Eye
The College of the Third Eye was founded by refugees from the New Terran Mandate. The Decade of Silence saw thousands of psionics genocided.
The people of Renaissance see psionics as the way to return to the utopian living standards of the Old Terran Mandate. The government of Renaissance subsidizes the funding of the College of the Third Eye. Other smaller, or more specialized, schools exist throughout the sector, but "The College" is the gold standard for structured psionic learning.
Psionic potential can be detected as early as birth. Many parents will allow The College to take their children from a young age to serve the Republic. Others will part with their children for generous grants from the government.
There are two main chapters of the school: The Crucible, and the Archives.
The Crucible is where practical psionics are learned for everyday use.
The Archives are where pretech and psitech are researched and held. Even non-psionic researchers work in this chapter.
Graduates and students of the school are usually contractually obligated to serve the interests of the Republic as a price for their schooling.
