The United Nations of Mundi
The United Nations of Mundi is a governing system that organises, structures, and protects the World of Mundi. Originally, the UNM was an alliance between four nations of Mundians, however over the course of time and continuous collaboration between the nations they eventually came to be fused into a single entity that would serve the entirety of the planet. The inception of the UNM would herald an era of peace and prosperity for the Mundians, wherein technological, philosophical, artistic, social and moral advances would be regularly achieved. This has resulted in Mundi being one of the most advanced civilisations in the galaxy, and it is no wonder that the UNM is a pivotal power within the Pontision System.
Mundi hosts two major political events within their World (specifically Synod). These are the Bridges, one domestic and the other galactic in scope, events that bring major social commentators together to discuss the present and future roles that various powers should be taking on for the betterment of civilisation at large. Domestic or Mundian Bridges are held annually on Codite 1st, whereas Galactic Bridges are held annually on Imir 1st. In the case of Galactic Bridges, Mundians request that each World select between two to five representatives from the governing forces of said World, preferably from positions of highest authority. For Domestic Bridges, eight elected individuals gather with an entourage of one to four Mundian citizens.
The positions of highest authority within Mundian politics are the Mayors of the seven major settlements. These are Mundians that are elected by citizens of these cities to represent the wishes of the people from said cities, both in terms of local law and global law. Mayors serve their people from anywhere between one to three terms, with any given term lasting three years. These seven mayors sit on seven of the eight seats in a Domestic Bridge, with the eighth belonging to the chairman of General Massive Systems.
