Seronda

My grandmother worked in the Aether Forges of Seronda when I was a child, and she'd always tell me that they used to craft every snowflake there. Every single one.   She was just messing with me, of course, she worked at those forges herself, though I didn't really know what that entailed at the time. I just thought she built stuff, and yet she was making such wonders as Eternal Ice.   I'd thank her if I could, though. Her stories got me intersted in the topic in the first place, now look at me!   Doing just what she did.
-Forgemaster Jerod Cendreand

Seronda is the geographically smallest nation within the Tsarinate of Brumel, and lacking much of the natural resources that its sibling nations have. If it weren't for the Aether Well that roiled beneath its citizen's feet, the nation would have almost nothing to live off of.   WIth the Aether Well, however, they have become the lead producer of magical items and spell-proficient individuals in the whole of the Tsarinate. The vast majority of Eternal Ice in the world is made and stored there. Many of the Aether Forges are governmentally owned, and not open to outside investment.   They also train the vast majority of the magically inclined that come out of the Brumel, with three-quarters of the court magicians that are in the employ of Ehyst and Dimra having been taught within the arcane learning spaces of Seronda. They have several acclaimed arcane learning instatutions that invite learners from around the world, and specialize in the teaching of enchanting and magical construction.

Military

With a small amount of territory and the population to match, the Seronda military can't be relied upon to make a stand-up fight in most situations.   Luckily, the Tsarinate is unlikely to simply leave the nation to its own devices, considering its strategic importance, but Seronda is by no means defenseless.   Instead of fielding vast legions, fighting with honor and valor, Seronda equips units of commandos with huge amounts of magical equipment, and intense training. By the end, each is a notable combatant with signifigant magical skill and a personal arsenal of magical weapons to make use of. There are not many of them, but they are deadly enough to make up for it.

Before the nation officially existed, there were several tribes that made their home in the area, but were low in number.   Due to this low count, outsiders rarely saw them, even the other tribes that knew the area, resulting in extensive rumors about the existence of a coven of witches or a human-shaped monster that pursued anyone who entered their territory. These old myths have persisted in the form of a new myth, that witches run the nation for nefarious purposes.
