Dimra
Spare the soldier, lose the front.
-Dimran military saying.
The Dimran are often described as abrassive and curt by foreigners. They're not wrong, many Dimran are, but who could blame them? The other nations of the Tsarinate indeed face the same troubles from the land they inhabit. Troubles growing food and fighting against the harsh elements. The other kingdoms, however, have not been at war since their founding. Dimra, on the other hand, has faced a constant struggle against the Beast Tribes it's first Tsar placed his crown upon his head. Dimra is the northernmost nation of the Tsarinate, and as such lies in the traditional path of Beast Tribe raids as they came south from Once-Flying Prothos, an Old Empire wreck that seems to spawn Beast Kin endlessly. In the days of the Brumel Nomads, they simply had to not be there during the raiding season of the Beast Tribes. Now a nation sits between them and the supplies they deem necessary for survival. For their own protection, Dimra maintains the Frozen Bastion, which marks the northernmost border of Dimra and the Tsarinate. A series of fortresses all connected by a curtain wall. There is little time for else in the country, and most of its citizens will serve upon the bastion at one point or another. Once their terms of service have elapsed, Dimran soldiers become a hot commodity in the war economies of other nations. They're highly sought after as mercenary soldiers, body guards, and for those that end up falling in with bad crowds; hitmen. This is due to their training, in part, but also due to their mettle. It's said Dimran soldiers never break, and in more fanciful circles, don't even feel fear. Their Sargeants are so scary that nothing else compares, according to popular military myth. Of course, no one ever considers statements like that being put to the test. Hopefully the Dimrans will live up to their admirers when the time comes.
