The Rot

The Rot was a demon of plague brought from a hellish plane in the Lesser Realms. He made a deal with Doctor Caskajaro, bargaining with the soul of Librarian Coldshore, and gained access to the Veritian Leaf with his retinue of plague bearing demons. Caskajaro called upon this specific demon in order to cripple the wealth of Pinecone by destroying their agricultural industry and cripple their population, a preemptive move to dismantle any potential resistance. The Rot did this well, though he was fighting against Neih's abundance of life.
After Doctor Caskajaro's death at the hands of the assassin Malvo, the Rot fled north with his brood to offer his services to the Lady of Dusk in the Demon Troubles. As a demon not aligned with the plans of Asmodeus and his minions, he had difficulty garnering entry into the Lady's forces, especially since his portal was destroyed. He tried to impress them by destroying plantations in the Oush Savannah south east of Dusk. This action got the attention of the Third Militia, who hired Kourend Salmonpuddle and his party of adventurers to hunt him down. Karmal, a Dharkness Hunter, is the one who killed the Rot. Some of his brood still roam the Veritian Leaf to be hunted down, but they spawned from him so they are a dying breed.
