The Fishfolk

The Fishfolk are a collection of aquatic humanoids that live in the Droplets of Turm and have created a quasi-united nations on the continent of Turm. It consists of lizardfolk from the deserts, bollywags from the swamps, the Giff hippo people from the savannahs, Marids and their genasi offspring, sahuagin and tortles, merfolk, and such. While each race has their own nations, as well as some multi-racial city states and kingdoms dot Turm, they go as fishfolk when confronting peoples from Clove or Elderrot. There is even a strange cultural phenomena where, outside of Turm, the fishfolk are staunch allies ready to die for each other (except the notable exception in the Giff), while in Turm they are nationalistic and territorial. Some argue that this is due to how the entire economy of Turm is reliant on the resource extraction efforts from the Outer Isles region. If the fishfolk lose their source of wealth from infighting, none would be unaffected. It is an economic stalemate maintained by the Fishfolk Outer Isles Trade Company.
