The Equinox

The Equinox is the capital of the Boar Shipping Company, also known as the Twelfth Division of the Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet. Most of the city consists of the propped up mothership that crashed after the Winter Contingency. It is located in the Eastern Fey Wilds not really near anything of note. It is technically in the territory under the dominion of the Duke of Oriaphia, so north of the Shadar lands and south of Dakath, but it was quickly carved into a typical Eternal city that the fey have yet to challenge. It is central to their trade empire, as the Boar Shipping Company uses their navy to continue their logistics empire throughout the Veritian Leaf.

Demographics

The Boar is a corporation devoted to their service, so any race willing to move boxes is welcome. Thus, most races could be found here, but the typical strength based races are predominant. There is a large dwarven and warforge population.

Government

Still young in self-governance after the Winter Contingency, the Boar follows a meritocratic corporate governance style with a CEO and shareholders, profit focused, and secular in leaning. While many flaws are in this system, the wealth they latched onto here in the Veritian Leaf has eased over much of the political disparity and turmoil amongst their citizenry.

Defences

As the Boar's navy did not see much engagement during the invasion of the Veritian Leaf in 1102, having only lost one dreadnought temporarily, so their navy remains quite powerful. That being said, their military maintenance takes a backseat to freight production, and the lack of conflict means their navy is not the most combat ready.

Districts

There is a top deck and lower deck portion of the ship, one geared towards shipment and the other production.   Top Deck:   Railing Edge- Railing Edge was meant to remain clear of structures for the crew of the Equinox to keep the ship in the air, but since its marooning, it became a district of its own for the poor and outcast begging for the scraps of the city. One major problem within the Boar was trafficking, and its consequences find their way here.   Delivery- The lower class portion of the ship, where the laborers live. During the war, it was fairly crummy a place, but with the sudden influx of wealth saw its gentrification. But the workers kept their culture alive, and Delivery has become the more prominant tourist area as well, as these delivery workers usually bring the wonders of the world back to their doorstep.   Stock Centre- The middle class portion of the ship, where most of the tedious white collar jobs are done. While not substantially wealthier than their brothers in Delivery, their is a cushy consumerism here to help mediate the tedium. The amount of suits and suitcases here is laughable, and the place is often considered colourless and drab.   Fragile- The higher class portion of the ship. It plateaus in the middle of the ship, pearing over the rest of the ship like a crows nest. Here the shareholders and management of the ship live and do business. Key figures in this district are the Calarook hags, a coven of stock investor hags. The most known one was Ferula Calarook, captain of their first dreadnought, but there are several other hags in this coven seeking the best ways to get ahead.   Shipping Docks: The main port area of the ship. It is nearly the same size as the city beside it. While it is under the control of the Boar, they lease out portions of it to the highest bidder. Thus, it has become ragtag amalgamation of docks and hangers bidding for service.   Lower Deck: The lower deck has four engines and a huge reactor for powering their industry, as well as a recycling plant and dump in addition to the four areas below.   4th Fleet Metallics- Metal refineries fill this section, once meant for part manufacturing for military purposes of have switched to more mundane items and parts. This area was run by Argus Redslate, a dasterdly millionaire cyborg whose business methods have been adopted by much of the Boar.   Amber Forges- One of the initial forms of payment the Boar took from the Veritians was payment in raw ore before they too returned to a gold currency. They mostly work with iron and steel to satisfy their other industries, but they are known for working with more experimental metals to compete with the magical competition.   Freigths and Frames- Shipwrights building ships.   Chips and Data- Semiconductors for making chips for computer systems. Now that they are cut off from the Eternal System, much of this sector has either closed down or slowed down. The revival of ESAI would also revive this industry, as the demand for chips remains high throughout the continent, so much so that there is a trade in scavenging old Eternal warzones for them.

Geography

Much of the fey wilds around the Equinox was clear cut to feed their paper needs, angering the fey and druids of the region.
