Mayor Hackshield
Mayor Hackshield is the mayor of Tel'ul. A large dwarf, he aims to please his constituents, the minelords who elect him. Many of Tel'ul's elite found him a great mayor as he is easy to influence. Unfortunately, that included the Dormant Clot's whispers. He was easily manipulated into inefficiency in the years 1035-1040, so much so that many of the political leaders of the city were not worried about the Dormant Advance. The hero Malvo changed that, becoming the right hand advisor to the mayor (though most know who really is in charge). During the battle of Tel'ul (circa 1041), the mayor managed the civilian population in tasks such as search and rescue, fire fighting, city repairs, etc.

Mayor Hackshield has a connection with the Bludgeon Halls, though it is a minor one. A lot of Bludgeon Halls dwarven land owners have an eye on the city of Tel'ul, and thus bribed their way into the power system of the city-state via the mayor. Thus, the mayor as several contracts and agreements with the dwarven country. The oligarchs of the Bludgeon Halls wait for the Dormant issue to be resolved, but have plans to politically maneuver their way into Tel'ul if it is worth claiming. The results of the defense of Tel'ul made that promising, but the mayors infatuations with the heroes have marred the Bludgeon Halls influence.
