Lysan, Raven Queen

Lysan is the daughter of Lothcryn, the founder of Sinfetter. She was referred as the Raven Queen as she was the key figurehead in Sinfetter's attempt at independence, placing her as queen of the city and colony. This attempt ended in failure with her being imprisoned back in the Shadar Kai motherland, but her spirit of rebellion remains in the city, brewing in the dark.

Mental Trauma

During the Dormant occupation of Sinfetter, the Night Terror sought to break the spirit of the Shadar Kai by imprisoning Lysan after Lothcryn died. When the tides of war changed, the Night Terror kidnapped Lysan and went into hiding. She was held captive for the next sixty or so years until Folstead rescued her with a group of adventurers. This trauma shaped her outlook on the Shadar Kai empire. They did nothing to rescue her or help her city, so she rejected their authority and created her own. With the help of the aasimar Achilles, she revived the term Raven Queen, inspiring her people.
But others also exploited her trauma, namely the Ankou Coven. Posing as supportive matrons, they weaseled their way into a position of advisors to her rising court. This plot was foiled by the warlock Tavvan.
