Inquisitor Vesuvius
Inquisitor Vesuvius was a high ranking member of the branch of Uz in the Church of Veritas of the Veritian Leaf. He was one of a handful of members who was eligible to become paraclete of Uz if it were not for the supremacy of Vox's achievements. Despite Vesuvius' accolades in the disruption of cults within the Ten Thousand Lakes region (outside of Dakath whose secularism made inquisition unnecessary), he could never match the prowess of the paraclete. She seemed to be doing five things whenever he achieved one. But, he was one of the only members to learn of her plot to kill Resentment in Val'ul. Thus began the plot to copy her by killing Indolence in Tel'ul. At first this was simply to match Vox in pace, to make her feat seem possible outside of paraclete class, but after her failure, Vesuvius thought her could finally surpass her.
His plan went unhindered due to political manipulation. Only the Dormant showed any challenge to his plot, but the arrival of heroes and Val'ul refugees led to the eventual expulsion of the Dormant. The inquisitor made connections with the heroes, offering aid in the defense of Tel'ul from the oncoming Dormant Advance in exchange for the promise to not investigate the Uz's activities under the Ul.
When the battle began, the battle proved favorable for Tel'ul as one of the Dormant's generals was killed and the first wave was repulsed. But plans began to go afoul after that. Vesuvius hoped to summon Indolence incrementally and perform a slow and quiet euthanasia upon the golem. That was until the trickster Winter spirit Jack Frost came to town during the battle to test out a weapon he was developing to defeat the Lich King Bedrich. He had run ins with the heroes of Tel'ul before, so did not mind screwing the city over. Jack Frost and his assistant Judas were also hoping to taking the power of Summer from the paladin Elias while they were at it, so the operation would have killed two birds with one stone as they needed summer power for the weapon. Jack Frost tested the weapon on the Ul of Tel'ul, disintegrating the obelisk with the heat of the sun.
Indolence was summoned by that point, but being held in a deep sleep. Yet, without the Ul, nothing held him from waking up. Vesuvius called for aid, receiving a few platoons of Ussaires but also the disapproval of the paraclete. Vesuvius neglected that disapproval, and set up his forces to simultaneously attack the giant golem. The heroes of Tel'ul, having expelled the first wave of Dormant Cultists, decided to help the Uz kill Indolence. The trap was set, and the full might of over a thousand Ussaires was unleashed on Indolence. After, the heroes went in and finished the job, killing the Indolence golem.
But Vesuvius did not like this result, as the heroes getting the kill marred his achievement. He was the one to summon the being, his army doing the bulk of the damage. He asked the heroes if they would be willing to give Vesuvius full credit, even having their memories altered for full protection, but the party refused and brutally killed Vesuvius. They then intimidated his Ussaire forces into retreat, ashamed at the loss of their prize and leader, sowed with a bitter hatred for Tel'ul and its heroes, one that will please Vox.

Religious Views
Vesuvius was an inquisitor for the Branch of Uz, thus he was fanatically against heresy (which to the Church of Veritas is any religion other than themselves). Most of his early life was spent in killing religious leaders and discrediting heretical views.
