Hahlian Hair

Hahlian Hair is a material found in the plain of Hah. It is a thread-like fiber harvested from Hahlian Strands (golden strands that act as the suns of the Hahlian plane. It holds a bit of Hah's cosmic power, keeping those who wear it resistant to being immobilized or imprisoned.
A piece of Hahlian hair was used on the Veritian Leaf of Neih in order to cast out Asmodeus from Gloranna Briarfell in the year 1040 of their calendar.

Discovery

Hahlian hair has been discovered an rediscovered many times. Whether it be by scholars and scientists wanting to understand their universe, or merchants and surveyors wanting to find a resource to exploit. Eventually, when people have the means to fly in the airs of Hah, they eventually go to a strand and harvest what is on it.

Everyday use

It is often used as thread to weave the cloaks and garments of Hah. Within the plane, most people have some hahlian hair within their garments (even the poor), but for the most part it is probably of poor quality and expired. The higher the quality, the richer the individual.
Hahlian hair is also used for making neckpieces. But this requires a fairly long and intact strand of it, which makes them fairly uncommon.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Hahlian hair is a sign of freedom. Giving the hair to someone means they are free from any ire or obligation to you. This could mean freeing a slave to issuing a divorce. It is a symbol of both the bad and good sort of freedom.

Hazards

It is hard to harvest as the substance refuses to be tied down and the strands are often fairly distant from habitable lands. Also, the strands, in the light of day, give off a blinding light. Thus it could only be harvested at night, which requires the reapers to go in quick and leave just as quickly. People left on the strand when day hits could be blinded, severely burned, or even killed by the glare.

Environmental Impact

Since they are harvesting from strands larger than the worlds they live on, even the most rapacious of harvesters has not done a dent to the hairs environment. It grows back too, since it is considered a plant (though technically it is a celestial animal product).

It degrades to dust like any natural clothing substance, so there is no reusability factor.

There is a large and costly trade with Hahlian hair. The harvesting is not cheap to begin, though when it is active the cost of hair falls significantly. There is also a large black market for the stuff, as criminals love using the stuff to get away from the law.

Hahlian hair is much regulated within governments, especially if they have a slave population or a large prison complex.
