Folstead

Folstead was the creation of Noah Summers.
Folstead is a goliath from the Thousand Lakes Region's mountains. He spent his youth in the high altitudes, being one of the rare individuals on the Veritian Leaf to experience natural cold. As a goliath, he was a born fighter, having been part of the many wars that plagued that region of the world. He is a mercenary by vocation, and such a career brought him to Tel'ul and under the employ of Malvo. He grew quickly fond of his new boss, seeing his cause as just and his devotion to Winter admirable. He was Malvo's first convert to the obscure worship of the Frozen Empress.
Folstead took part in the Tel'ul Defensive and the Battle of Tel'ul, becoming a veteran of that war. He stood by Malvo's side for many years after, serving as a general to Tel'uls budding military, securing the eastern side of the Southern Farmlands from the Dormant and other threats. He and Lord Mirabel even aided the Shadar-Kai liberate Sinfetter behind the Dormant border but did not go further due to the wall of miasmas there. Though he was on occasion sent to various regions of the SPN, Sinfetter would be his base of operations, keeping watch on the southern border for that ever present enemy.
One thing Folstead regretted was that he was not able to kill the Dormant occupying general, the Night Terror, and failed to rescue the daughter of Lothcryn, Lysan. So, as penance, Folstead was pivotal in developing the Blue Flame method to prevent people from popping into the shadowrealm when a wave occured, even going into the Dormant Lands to the city of Tuthis to scour the Tuthian libraries abandoned there. With that defense in place, a modicum of safety resumed in Sinfetter. Even with this achievement, Folstead continued to hunt the Night Terror.
Decades later, Folstead would finally track the monster down, breaking into his pocket dimension hidden in the shadowrealm. They would fight, but Folstead would be bested. He left a grievous wound on the eldritch demon, but he too was mortally wounded. Luckily, a party of adventurers found the interesting well that served as a portal into this pocket dimension. They would enter and find Folstead, administering first aid, then go fight the Night Terror. The fight was not going in their favor, but their healing of Folstead allowed him to get a second wind and together they killed the Night Terror and rescued Lysan.
Folstead's wounds were still too deep, and he died temporarily. Malvo would retrieve his body, and spending a favor he had with Gojira of the GRG, he revived his old companion for one final mission. He would avenge Sinfetter once more and join the expidition sent to kill Vincent Netheridge and cast out Ic'thaog'endal. He would join one of the infiltration teams on the Rat mothership, assisting Quinlan, Terrick, Yellick, and Zika. He would not make it far into the raid, as Beauty's pet bird wished him away. Where he went is unknown.
