He was slain by an assassin named Malvo who raided his estate with a group of adventurers.

Personal history

Doctor Caskajaro was a minor noble of Tumult, loosely related to the Van Hyden family. They had land in the Pinecone region that became useless after the Val'ul war of secession. Thus, they were a fading nobility. Thus, Samuel sought to find a new path outside of that social class. He thus went into the sciences and artificiary, studying at the university of Dakath. There he got introduced to elvish secularism, which influenced his future ideology. He proved a very intelligent student, and got accredited very quickly even within an elven institution.   At a young age, fresh out of university, he inherited his uncle's estate in the Pinecone swamp region. It was a sizable and impressive property once upon a time. His uncle was still living there, but has gone mad due to a relic he worshiped. Sam took care of his uncle until he passed, but the madness was spreading to him as well. Whispers of the Drowned Lady permeated through the walls of that place. He never fully embraced the lantern, but the atrocities the doctor would later enact was likely influenced by those lamentations.   His obsession with annihilation infected his thoughts to the point that he sought every means to assure it upon his own soul. Thus, he studied the necromantic arts. He began a correspondence with House Necromancy of Val'ul, but they proved to worldly for Sam. Thus, he went down darker paths. That is when he began to be noticed.   The Tumult government began to interfere with his research. So, he fought back, building his own army of dire individuals, such as crazy artificers, werewolves, demons, and other curious necromancers. He became a warlord that plagued that region, all in the hopes to continue his research in piece. Unfortunately, the Salmonpuddle lord returned, taking back his city. With him was an assassin of the guild of rogues out for Caskajaro's head.   In his warmongering, he captured the prince of Tumult, prince Bedrich. He held no real political plans for the young fellow, seeking only to ransom him off to buy more time for his research. But that became just another motive for his killers to invade his domain. He slowly saw his domain crumble around him as Bedrich claimed the Lantern, a tuthian marble blew up half his estate, and his army was scattered. He was then killed by Malvo, seeing all his work consumed, his soul still going to Hah.
