The Great Forests

High above the Planet, sat atop Layman's Belt, the stars above are a marvellous sight, spinning and dancing, finding new positions every night. The immense number of colours that weave and flow through the outer black, a true piece of artwork for all denizens to watch unfold. But during the day, the most interesting place to look is down, down onto the Planet that many left behind when construction on cities like Caleb's Rest was first begun. The radiant orb below the Belt holds three impressive Spires, reaching out as if to shake hands with the Belt-dwelling viewer. Ley-Lhoris, Ley-Lhyandir and Ley-Lefyr, home of the High Elves, Ink Elves and former home of the Wild Elves respectively. But surrounding these, and blanketing the rest of the Planet in its entirety, are the lush, verdant greens of the Great Forests.   The Great Forests are shrouded as much in mystery as they are in greenery, holding an unknowable number of creatures and monsters within their branches. The Great Forests are made up of huge trees, starting off as tall as multistory buildings near the Spires and steadily climbing higher at the same rate the ground slopes away into a labyrinth of roots. Living in these dark depths are all kinds of entities, from the stunning and rare Gyrithus to the fierce tide of Night-Creatures that assault the Elven Spires relentlessly. And somewhere, deep within the undergrowth or high in the canopy, live several different clans of Wild Elves, seeking to live amongst the nature of the Planet rather than against it as their High and Ink kin do.
