Betholos Fur

Found growing on the roots close to the edges of the Great Forests, Betholos Fur is a strange, blue-tinged moss with a number of interesting properties. Growing wild, it first appears unassuming, simply another natural organism to add to the vast list of things that live within the Forests. However, many explorers owe their lives to this simple moss. Those who have had a rope snap, have been pushed from the branches of the trees or simply got too cocky on a waterlogged root and fallen onto this cerulean carpet have found their drop arrested with no damage caused to them, the moss instead giving them a small bounce at the bottom. A fall-proof plant? Yes, but one with even more uses within the world of Alchemy.   Alchemical Acquisitionists weren't the first to discover this odd root-rug, that achievement would fall to the Wild Elves, but they were the first to experiment with its uses with the alchemical sciences. They quickly found that, if used within an elixir, this moss would confer to the drinker the ability to fall safely from a distance of up to thirty feet in height without sustaining any damage. Furthermore, if combined with a number of different reagents, some of which give the ability the transmute oneself, the moss could instead give the user a more plant-like form, closer to an ooze than a person. In this form, one could spread oneself out just at the moss grows in the wild and be almost fully disguised against simple animal minds as well as many more intelligent minds. It would also continue to grant the drinker the ability to fall from great distances without injury, as well as giving them the ability to cling to vertical surfaces just as moss does, though climbing in this form is just as challenging a task as in ones normal form.
