Fable

A smart, though slightly naive and ditsy, girl whose behavior and values seems questionably inconsistent. She has no qualms bending rules if they get in the way of a pressing objective. Though some of her actions may appear selfish, she is very charitable to the people she loves most.

Nimble and energetic, but by no means an adventurer.

Body Features

Fable is small and perhaps one of the least intimidating people out there. She has a high-pitched voice and can be hard to take seriously even when she is angry.

Physical quirks

Fable does not have a consistent hair color. It changes depending on what hat she is wearing.

Special abilities

With magic, she can alter time slightly, use summoning magic to swap out her hat, and alter the way other spells operate.

Apparel & Accessories

Fable always wears a rather distinctive sun hat. She has a few different ones, each a different color, sitting around in a closet, and she uses summoning magic to change out hats whenever she wants to without needing to carry all the hats with her.

Specialized Equipment

Fable wears sun hats because of their circular shape. Each hat, under its rim, has some spell written out which takes the wearer as input. Fable uses these hats for various things, like changing her hair color, allowing her to see spell circles through certain walls, and so on.
Fable also generally wears an oversized red coat with pockets on the inside capable of carrying various small trinkets.

Mental Trauma

Fable's brother disappeared when she was very young. This caused her to be hesitant about making friends in the small, albeit irrational fear, that they leave or move on.

Intellectual Characteristics

Really good at magic. Besides having a high link to the Aether, Fable has a natural understanding of the magical language and is capable of creating, analyzing, and casting spells better than her peers. Most notably, Fable is among the few that actively practices metamagic, or magical hacking. Although not skilled at it, she is daring enough to practice this outlawed practice. Although good at magic, Fable is very inexperienced and does not get how the world works. She never took the time to understand political structures, economy, etc.

Morality & Philosophy

Fable does not have a clear understanding of her own moral system. She might say one thing and change her mind as soon as her supposed value becomes inconvenient. For the most part, Fable is a consequentialist that is inexperienced at calculating consequences. In terms of value, she puts herself above strangers and people she loves above herself.

To make her mother happy. Fable believes finding her brother will accomplish this.

Talented magician. Clever and gets more creative the more trouble she's in. However, she is inexperienced, naive, and a bit ditsy. Also terrible with weapons.

Really likes fashion, especially hats. Dislikes guns and refuses to use them.

Vices & Personality flaws

Fable has two major flaws: she is inexperienced and she is naive. Her lack of experience means she has an oversimplified mental model of how various things in the world work, like politics, the economy, business, and so forth. Second, she is naive in that identifying these gaps of knowledge is hard for her. Therefore, she acts on her limited understanding and will often make incorrect assumptions, be overly trusting, and so forth.
As an example, Fable clones money without any regard to what kind of effect this has on the macroeconomy.

Believes there's one or more gods, partly due to a strong link to the Aether and growing scientific evidence. She doesn't think about it too often but if you asked, she'd probably tell you that's how it is because she just knows, alright?!
